Bottle, 33cl. Pours a ruby-tinged dark mahogany with off-white head that lasts a bit. Aroma of dark dried fruits and roast malts. Similar on the tongue with liquorice and caramel notes. Light-to-medium mouthfeel, with well blended alcohol. Not bad at all.

The bottle looks very simple, the beer in the glass is much better. Dark brown, creamy head. Starts malty and strong, a little bit alcoholic, also fruity with notes of raisins and liquorice. Soft fruity finish, well balanced. Nice!

Bottle at Locus Publicus Rotterdam. This dark brown ale poured with a modest tan head and a malty aroma. The flavor is a bit thin, but with a tick syrupy finish.

ICY NUN BEER !
This was drunk outside on a beautiful summers day, and holding the glass up in the sun shone deep brown with fantastic cherry red flowing through. The aroma was quite smoky and appley, and the taste was hard to discern but quite strong and treacly. I have heard this compared to some of the darker tripels but far too thin to be well likened. A nice beer but too small and thin to be one to hanker after again.

Bottle 25 cl. Pours a dark brown with a medium off-white head with a sweet aroma, with hints of dark malts, prunes, rhum and alcohol. The taste is very sweet, with a thin mouthfeel and notes of brown sugar, caramel, raisins, white bread and cream. It’s a bit watered down, but still a pretty good beer.

At an Delhaize supermarkt in Malmedy, Belgium.
Dark brown, foamy beige head, very sweed like a strong oud bruin, nice thin sweed one but not an abbey dubbel in the taste.
