UPDATED: JAN 30, 2003 RerateFrom tap in Kafe Belgie very good double. Dark brown appearance, with lasting head. Spicy and malty aroma were much more present. Soft malty taste, spicy on the tongue. From tap it is definitely better than out of a bottle.
Original rateNice double. Clear dark-brown color. Sweet (but definitely not sweeter than Grimbergen) and malty. A bit flaw.

Die Schaumkrone hält mittelmäßig, farblich dunkel braun. Der Geruch ist mild hopfig und dunkelmalzig, er erinnert etwas an Gras. Geschmacklich ist es im Antrunk sehr süß zuckrig in richtung Rohrzucker, zuckrig-herb. Später ist es dann Nicht mehr so zuckrig bleibt aber sehr süß und ist etwas fruchtig. Die fruchtige ist im Nachgeschmack leider schon wieder zuckrig-klebrig. Fazit: Ohne diese süße wäre es besser, obwohl es auch so nicht schlecht ist -> trinkbar!

Pours a dark brown colour with a white, thick and lacy head. Aroma of sweet caramel, herbs and cherries. Flavour of sweet caramel, cherries, yeast and some nutty notes. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and a fruity finish with some tangy cherries. Good.

Pours clear ruby red color with medium-sized head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, ripe fruits and spices. Flavour of caramel, malts, toffee and sugar. Way too sweet as expected.

pours dark ruby red with a big fluffy white head. Nose is huge caramel, figs and prunes. Bready. Tast is sweet up front mildy bitter. Goes toward watered down after that but leaves a suprisingly long aftertaste. Crisp and clean.

Birra dal colorito bruno e dalla schiuma poco persistente. Sapore dolciastro con chiari sentori fruttati, in particolare di mela. Odore gradevole e birra nel complesso facile da bere. Forse troppo leggera.

Very dark brown, very small and quickly dissipating tan head. Nose is sugar, raisins and yeast. Taste has a lot of caramel sweetness, malt, yeast and spicy notes. Smooth mouthfeel, medium to thin body. Tasty.
