2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - JAN 5, 2003
Caramel, little iron aroma. Brown color, light brown head, large foam bubbles, fair lace. Sweet, few flavors, little caramel, where’s the 9% alcohol? Long lasting finish with just some caramel. Bit boring but drinkable.

Dark yellow-brown head, creamy; dark brown, clear beer, with deep ruby shine. Vanilla, marzipan, glue, bit woody - general nasal impression of burnt, bitter-caramel malt with overlying sweetness. Taste fully confirms the nose: harsh bitter woody flavours with overlying sweetness. The sweetness masks that the roasted, bitter tastes even have a bilous character. Full-bodied, slick mouthfeel. Slight alcoholburn. Aftertaste again gives this marzipan aroma - this time obviously made from bitter almonds. Awful beer -I cannot understand people really like this. So harsh, unrefined, unbalanced...

Dark beer with beige foam. Too sweet for me. Tasted like caramel and leather. The worst of the Ciney beers.
2.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 JensenTaster (1718) - DENMARK - JUL 28, 2004
(on bottle) ciney - chimey? Being a newbee, I´m having a hard time not comparing this one to the chimey bleu. And this one comes out on the flipside. A very heavy floweral aroma almost make me hold my breath before drinking. Some sherry notes, but most baked aple and dates in the mouth. end as sweet as it began. maybe will it be good for the celler?
