COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blur is a perfect warm weather brew for Austin’s hottest summer months. This Texas twist on the old German wheat beer brings with it a hint of caramel to a crisp and refreshing style. The hint of citrus plays off the light and creamy body to create a beer that has no rival whether you enjoy it in the sun or in the shade.

Cloudy apricot color. Smallish tinted white head for a here. The aroma is just like crisp clean mountain air, water and some nutmeg, cinammon spice cake. The first flavor that comes to mind is delicious, which is not a flavor per se, greek, but it is in my mind. Following that you’ve got vanilla, milk, nutmeg and custard. This is definitely a here with desert like qualities. The mouthfeel is a little thick but not enough to kiss you off. Strangely enough, this beer finishes your meal well.

Draft at GABF. Pours a hazy orangey yellow with a fluffy white head. Nose is bready and quite clove forward, hint of citrus in the background. Nice hefe nose. On tasting, though, it is a bit bland. Wheaty and some banana, but not much. Also quite thin bodied. Just lacking finesse and umph overall. Okay.

Sampled at Texas Beerfest. Pours a cloudy orange with a small frothy off white head. The aroma is clove banana and yeast. Thin mouthfeel with a fruity malt and crisp finish. A decent hefe from CBC.

On tap at Trudy’s Tex-Mex. Pours hazy and very orange. Not the best hefe in the world but quite refreshing with a spicy dinner on a warm night.

Drinking this in the humidity helped refresh me.. . Pours a hazed tan, medium foam .. . cloves, banana, muffin spice and beard .. . muddled and not to on point, but damn refreshing so whatever .. . Good, that’s good. And you’re not getting a high ride, huh?

Pint glass at the brewery- served an orange/yellow color with some cloudiness, half finger white head that did try to lace. Aroma of cloves, with an extremely faint note of nutmeg and some sort of funky, opened old beer smell. Hits the mouth with a light medium body, malt has a wheat sensation on the palate, a gummi worm (definately the Walgreen gummies) taste in the middle, finish is slightly sweet. Unfortunately, try again guys.

Aroma- Really thin, not a lot of there there. Appearance-Standard for a hefe, cloudy yellow with a weak head and medium lacing, Taste-Light flavor with a little sweetness, and a little indiscriminate citrus flavor. Overall, this is a pretty weak beer, which is too bad because I like to see more Texas breweries getting into the fray. But unfortunately this beer seems to have more in common with the offerings from Rahr than the exceptional offerings from Real Ale or Live Oak (or Thirsty Planet, 512, etc...).
