COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Envy is the perfect balance between malt and hops. Not too dry nor too sweet, it is a full-bodied and complex beer without being overly heavy. The dried fruit notes derived from rich and earthy British malts and slightly higher fermentation temperatures conjure flavors reminiscent of an old-world ESB. Compare it to the last amber you had and you’ll know why we call it ENVY. IBU: 25.9

On tap at the Draught House 43rd Anniversary Party. This is my first beer from Circle Brewing. The beer pours an amber color with a white head. The aroma is full of toffee and caramel malt, with a little bit of grain and some grass mixed in. The flavor is similar. I get some nice toasted malt character, along with some grass and a little bit of bitterness. There is also some nice malt sweetness from all of the caramel and toffee malt. The alcohol is completely hidden and the beer is easy to drink. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

GABF 2011. Clear dark amber with a frothy light tan head. Aroma of toffee, English honey malt, big cereal grains. Flavor has nice English toffee malts with cereal grains, soft floral bitter hops, balancing nicely. A little on the burnt side, and on a medium body. Average, but not shabby.

Sampled at Texas Beerfest. Pours a clear amber with a small off white head. The aroma is sweet raisin malt and caramel. Medium mouthfeel with light malt and brown sugar and nice sweet finish. Easy to drink, a good ESB from CBC.

Poured out a stupid tree brown, light but sturn foam .. . some light bitterness, some maple maltiness and a weird fruit.. . swollen eyes .. . OK stuff but needs work .. . But I am who I am. - Yeah let’s pretend you aren’t who you are and just try to attract a woman.

Pours a deep amber into the glass with a small white head. Aroma is slightly fruity with a bit of malt sweetness. Flavor is toasted malt with a slight bitterness followed by some astringency. Thin body. These guys are new so I’m betting this beer will get better as they go.

Pint glass at the brewery- poured an opaque very darkened brown with ruby tints, minimal head, faint aroma of grains and a wet autumn walk through the northwoods- just wish it was more pronounced. Hits the mouth with an even medium body, malt has a slight touch of caramel but it is easy to find, middle holds up fine, finish is slightly bittering and demands another sip. I could drink this all night long for several months, and I wouldn’t be happier.

On tap at Draught House. Pours a clear dark reddish color with a small white head. Aroma is huge raisins with dry grains and a small bit of sweet malt. Flavor is dry raisins and dark fruits. There are dusty notes for sure with some grainy finishings. Odd, especially considering the style.
