3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A murky orange appearance. Aroma is spicy with some cherries, pears, apricots. The flavor is kind of funky with some citrus, brown sugar, and sweet potatoes. This was prettty good and unlike any saison Ive had. Oh and yes Gez I got the bottle.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Ken’s Thirsty Thursday Throw Down – Hazy copper, light tan head. Nose held notes off funked grapes and veggies, with lighter yeasty, peppery, grassy tones. Flavor is similar with more grapey, herbal, and yeasty notes. Slight celery note rounds it out. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, light bittersweet finish. Another wacky one from Fantome. Thanks for sharing MJ…

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: APR 27, 2008 750ml bottle. Smells of bell peppers and spicy grape and celery. Murky, muddy brown and orange color, very muddy with a tan and toast colored head. Creamy and slick and moderately thick up front, a bit thinner on the back, flavor is quite strange, some muddy yeast, some more celery, though it’s also crisp and pungent at times. When warmer there’s less vegetable and more grassy flavors and aromas, more grapes and pears. Just a weird beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 mL bottle, courtesy of mj. Thanks, Mike! Pours a cloudy, yellowish-brown color; light tan head with patchy lacing. Sharp, vegetal aroma; grassy and herbal, with signature Fantome funk. Slightly tart mouthfeel: chewy esters and yeast underneath; spice and slightly floral. Lengthy, sweet floral finish.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle. Poured a medium and murky/muddy orangish color with an averaged sized off white head. The color darkened up as I got towards the bottom of the bottle. Aromas of yeast, fruity, spicey, caramel, green minty herbalness and floral. Tastes of the same herbalness, apples, pears, yeast, and citrus. Light tart finish.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle... Cloudy, deep amber ale with a mid-sized, frothy, off-white head. Good retention. Herbal, spicy aroma and flavor. Mild, Flemish acidity in both. Caramel in the nose. Bread in the flavor. Medium-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and no sign of the relatively high ABV... excepting the ringing in my ears and pink elephants dancing in my head... oh, a circus! Easygoing carbonation. Moderately dry finish. Well-balanced beer all the way around. Another solid product from Brasserie Fantôme!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: SEP 2, 2007 75cl bottle from The Beer Circus. Gutted to find out that the Circus was officially out of stock, but Graeme was kind enough to pull one from his limited personal stash. Deep raspberry in colour with malty beige head. Sparkling from the popping carbonation. Nose of red wine / dried dark fruits with notes of coffee, caramel, raisin and chocolate (very tootsie roll like). Taste is predominently prune and tobacco - might sound awful, but they really compliment each other. The 8% is initially quite subtle, but a long, warming alcohol finish tops things off quite nicely. I swear I can still taste it. Goes down an absolute treat.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a reddish orange, very cloudy with 2 cm of light white head. Slightly acidic sour smell, with spices, and pepper in typical fantome style. Very nice and refreshing taste. Light sourness, but nothing overpowering. Citrus and lemon are very pronounced in the taste. Other spices are present, coriander and light pepper show their heads towards the finish. Another great Fantome brew.
