omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden May 6, 2007 Updated: Jun 26, 2007Bottled, thanks jjpm74! Cloudy amber, no head. Oaky peat aroma. Sweet with soft and rounded mouthfeel. Rather fruity and near full bodied. Warming and gentle. More focus on malt, wood and vanilla than on hops. Complex and tasty. kp (6300), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 06/18/2005
argo0 (6285), Washington DC, USA Dec 20, 2005 (750ml bottle, No. 0478, 2005(?)) Small beige head atop a murky copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, spruce, buttery, tobacco, herbal, wood, some bourbon. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, butterscotch, spruce, herbal, wood, some bourbon. Medium-full body -- only the warming gives indication of the strength of this beer. Delicious. fiulijn (6010), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy May 14, 2003 75cl bottle, aged 5 years in my cellar
Dark amber color.
Wonderful aroma, malty and well hoppy; caramel; phenol.
Smooth, quite sweet, malty, with a very good hop character.
The palate is still quite sweet. Beautiful hop aromas for this beer. Rastacouere (5418), Montréal, Quebec, Canada May 15, 2005 Not much head for a Cisco. Dark murky brown. Weird and plentiful aromas of mint, toothpaste, ice cream, bretty earth, pickles, cedar, salad dressing, sun lotion etc… Funky and not particularly appetizing. Cementy palate, very dry, aggressive.. Sharp astringence dominate traces of malt… Marshmallows, hard water and chalky flavours top the portrait, Strangely thin for a 12% beers, strong carbonation though not as strong as your average Cisco. A very atypical barleywine that was not a success to my tastebuds.
