2.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Oakes (9997) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 4, 2009
Hazy straw colour. Tart, grainy nose with apple skins. Sour, herbal, and lightly spicy. Whatever this is doing, I think the footy, slightly autolyzed electrical cord note doesn’t work for me.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 argo0 (9034) - Washington DC, USA - JAN 19, 2004
The good news is that there's good head retention, the bad news is that, when the pour is 95% foam to 5% body, it makes for a slow pour. Off-white head atop a hazy yellow body. Aroma is medium sweet, citrus hoppy, some floral and spicy. Taste is medium sweet, spicy, light citrus hop. Finish is spicy citrus bitter. Medium body, quite tart and nice crispness.

25 oz bottle-pours a foamy, four finger+ reducing to rocky with patches clinging to the side of the glass white head. Color is hazy yellow. Aroma is floral, fruity. Taste is spices, hoppy, grapefruit, sweet creamy, vanilla. Good carbonation.
3.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 hopscotch (7288) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUN 18, 2004
Hazy, light golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The nose is of pine and citrus fruit with huge notes of tropical fruit (mango?) The flavor is bone-dry and lightly bitter. A touch plasticy and bland. Medium-bodied with a dry mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Lengthy, citrusy, bone-dry finish.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 bhensonb (7143) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 8, 2011
Bomber from Vintage Cellar. Pours hazy amber gold with a creamy/foamy off-white head. Aroma is citric, almost like bergamot. Near med body. Firm carbonation. Flavor is bitter citrus, hint of perfume, and it seems a bit wheaty rather than caramel. For a golden ale it’s got a lot going for it: ABV, bitter, nice tang in the finish. Very good.
