blklab2007 (490), Connecticut, USA Jul 5, 2008 750 bottle poured a brown in color with a two finger dark tan head. aroma has roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, and caramel sweetness. mouth feel has a milky creaminess and very low carbonation. flavor has plenty of roasted malt, coffee, and steers clear of too much bitterness. caramel and sweetness mellow it out more with the alcohol being totally hidden. as far as extra stouts go this is pretty good. Rciesla (674), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Jun 15, 2008 Bottle bought at oak tree or capones. Pours a dark brwon body with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate malt, sweet vanilla, some dark fruit and some abv. Easy drinking with a smooth vanilla backbone and a certain sweetness. Not bad. Cobra (1021), In the snake pit, Maryland, USA May 29, 2008 22 oz. brown bomber bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a deep chocolate brown, with a thick tan head. Slightly overcarbonated, points off for that. Aromas are sweet, like roasted caramel, dried figs, some raisins too. Flavors are strictly stout.
Roasted malts, chalky background, minerally too. Medium mouthfeel, sweet finish.
Something’s just not quite right with this beer, but I can’t put my finger on it. mephisto (1083), Taiwan May 15, 2008 dark brown with beige head and roasty aroma, it has caramel flavor and is very chocolatey. Goodgrief (992), Middletown, Delaware, USA Mar 29, 2008 Oct. 2007 - Beer pours dark brown with two finger head. Very pretty...nice lacing as well and some yeasty chunkies on the bottom of my glass. Flavor is sweet malt. The flavor isn’t as sweet as the aroma indicated. Lots of roasted malt, milky/lactic and chocolate with a pine hop finish. A little too milky and not smooth on the tongue. Strong flavor, but a little too much on the lactic and pine. Okay.
