Clear dark black brown color with a average, creamy - frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, cold coffee, shampoo notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and heavy bitter with a long duration, hop and malt bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottled. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes roasted malt, alcohol, and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, wood, and chocolate, as well as lighter notes of alcohol, leading to a bitter finish.

22nd May 2010. ChrisOs ’Blue Ridge Mountains Of Virginia’ tasting! Opaque black stout, no real head. Minerally malt and a little coffee on the nose. Dry palate. Rich dark malt - pretty hard roasted. Some dark chocolate. Too bitter and dry for me.

Bmber from Vintage Cellar. Lours black with a creamy/foamy dark tan head. Aromas of dark malt with a touch of coffee. Med body. Flavor of dark malt, burnt/toasted, with something suggesting dates. Maybe a bit of chocolate. Mostly it’s just dark,bitter rather burnt malt.
