Bomber. Deep dark pour with a nice creamy head. Nutty rich malt taste with an overall dry bitter character that works well. Enjoyable stout.

Pours a black body with mahogany hightlights when held to light. Head is 2 fingers and khaki colored. Lacing and head retention are pretty good.
Smell is big on roasted malt, sweet chocolate, and fresh baked brownies. There is abit of oxidation there, no hops, and for 8% surprisingly not much alcohol.
First taste is chalky semi sweet bakers chocolate. Roasted biscuit malts come and go throughout. Oxidation/soy sauce is in the after taste. Hops dont really come through. Beer drinks more like a 6%er, wouldnt have guessed it was 8,
Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium bodied. Head adds some texture. Carbonation levels are good. Finish is slightly chalky/dry.
Overall this beer was good but nothing extraordinary. It drinks easily, its been in my closet for at least a year so that may be the cause. I would drink this beer again but seeing as its from Massachusetts I wouldnt go out of my way to procure it, glad to receive it in a trade though.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Ah, excellent, I was just thinking about Moby Dick/Nantucket last night. Perfect time for this bomber. Nose is very, very sweet, has the chocolate cloy of an unbound imperial stout, some mild tang and roast barley/black patent, but very rich chocolate and some mild ripe fruit. Pours deep brown-black with a foamy light brown head. Light/watery body with plenty of roast and ash, in best semi-Irish style, does dry out to match the rising bitterness but the beginning is still sweet. Heavy chocolate and faint coffee with hard-bop roast, and the fruit is backed off. Smooth but with a little tang, rich enough to want to slow down, but uncompromising and worthy of at least some earned measure of respect.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
1 pint 6oz bottle. Pours almost black with a creamy tan head. Aroma is very boozy, and it overwhelms almost everything else though there is some cocoa, dried fruit and espresso present. Medium bodied, and on the drier side for a stout, there is a good amount of bitterness present from beginning to end, big espresso notes, molasses, dates, alcohol, and some citrus in the finish.

Draught. Not a stout I would go for again. This is a bit thin and not roasty enough for my taste.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
It pours pitch black and leaves the same color body. With a nice foamy one inch mocha colored head, it gently dies to concave lumpiness. Spotty spiderweb lacing is left. The smell is smoky and roasty with the coffee up front, some really light vanilla enters in as the beer warms. The taste is light and gives quite a bit of hops and burnt bread, some coffee, pine and hops enter gently in. The palate is light and bitter, close to watery. There is a good dry finish and a bitter and dry aftertaste. It is fairly drinkable. Overall, not bad, but not memorable, might get it again depending upon what else was offered.

Bottle from Hop City Birmingham - pours cola with a tan head. Aroma is hop forward, which is weird in a stout. Taste leans bitter. Overall, Iím not feeling this one.

22oz bottle $5.99. Dark black, sizable brown head. Smells like a stout but nothing wowed me. The taste was rich stout with a distinct pine on the back end, very intriguing and I wonder what varieties of hops were used in this beer. Overall this beer was a very good value for the money.
