Not too bad. Has a very nice dark hazy brown appearance. Aromas are of spices, cloves. pine, cinnamon, and very light hops. Taste is something different than what I’m used to. I get tastes of pine, cloves, and other various spices that I just can’t put my finger on. Has a smooth aftertaste with a little bit of a sour end. Not really my type of beer, but it does not lack quality.

Very hazy dark brown coloured body, very opaque with a super dense tan head that tops the beer so perfectly. Aroma of roasted malt, figs, stale hops, nuts and some toffee - not great but not horrible. Medium-bodied; Strong malty taste showing a good character with some hops and a good nuttiness that ends the beer. Alcohol is noticeable but not much overpowering. Aftertaste shows some lighter malt and a bit of the nuts. Overall, a decent beer - a bit odd for a holiday seasonal - but good to try. I sampled this one year old 75 cL bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 24-December-2005.

Bottle thanks to John. Bright amber pour with generous bright light yellow foamy head. This is a spicy one... particularly nutmeg and cinnamon. Other than that, it’s hard to distinguish much else about this beer. Some malt presence and a little bit of hops.

Bottle. Pours on the ruby side of amber with a thin yellowey head. A very toned down spice aroma. Tastes of spices but again toned down. Full on the palate.

Bottle; poured a copper/auburn color. Off white head. Aroma of spice, pine tips, toasted malt and yeast. Flavor was similar with spice, toffee, pine and vanilla. Flavor was a little strange, almost medicinal. Good amount of hop presence, for the style. Probably had it during the wrong season.

Bottle 750ml. Very balanced, piney taste. Nose is plums, ginger, spice. Unusual beer, very earthy and warming. Medium bodied. Color is amber. Carbonated well. Very good, exceptional for the style which is very hit or miss for me. A nice surprise, i believe this is underrated.

22 oz. bottle. Poured a cola like light brown with a small white head and moderate lace. Flavor was lightly spicey as advertised with some cinnamom. Some really mild caramel in the background. Mouthfeel was full and moderately carbonated. I don’t know about "freshly baked Christmas cookies in a bottle", but it was good and I enjoyed it.

From the on-set this beer looked like it had potential. A nice amber body a big frothy head, perhaps too frothy, with very little lacing. Aroma was malty, mostly earth notes with a few mild & indistinguishable spices. Flavor was basically the same, but had a moderate bitterness to it. No real warming sensation here.
