I had this beer at Orange County Brew Ha Ha in Irvine, CA. Thanks to Ron B. for organizing a tasting. Tart, cherry, nicely done.

2012 or 2011 version - whatever the most recent version was that I bought at the beginning of this year, I think it was 2012, so I’ll stick with that. Well, this one opened... flat. I mean, absolutely no pop on the cork, no fizz sound, nothing.

Poured... flat. Uh, oh. Well, aroma was nice, a touch tart dark cherries, with a slightly sweet and sour flavor throughout, like a sweet cherry with a touch of vinegar. While it didn’t seem to be a hit with the rest of the people around me, I enjoyed it, to a point. The carbonation was an unfortunate downside to this particular brew, especially how expensive the brew was to purchase.

I’d get another one if it weren’t so darn expensive to buy.

2009 vintage

Head: none
App: orange/copper , clear, lots of tiny bubbles,
Aroma: smell is awesome ! is it due to the age ? anyway superb ! lots of fruity accents , but mainly sweetsour cherrys, also a bit of pears , smell is sour but not acidic or vinegary , just sour, very nice
Taste: start is sweet cherrys , then sour cherrys, then the palate becomes sour but not overwhelming, you get allof of the oak flavours as well, bit of vanilla, bit of pears and sour/green apples, bit of strawberry as well , the palate cleans and makes room for a fruity well balanced woody flavour, end is semi dry , aftertaste is tiny bit grassy , very very nice !!!

750 thanks to Ernesto987. Pours with almost no carbonation. Bit of vinegar and cherry. Dry overall which makes it a bit different than other sour reds. Low alcohol makes it refreshing.

750 ml bottle. Cellared since Sept 2011. Paid $16.99 @Table and Vine. Looks like a rose colored wine in my snifter. Fast dissipating head. Nose of wood, barnyard funk, and a light level of acidity. Taste much the same as the aroma lead by the tart cherries, with a sweetness reminds me of maraschino cherries. Clean finish. Funk aftertaste with weak oak as well. Light mouthfeel. Sourheads will like this one but… for the price I would reach for others first.

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Hazy peach-colored ale with no head. Smells like cherry pie – graham, cinnamon, vanilla and cherry pie filling. Medium-bodied and milky with trace carbonation. The flavor is very sour with nice cherry fruitiness. Tart, acidic finish. Thanks to Beerman6686 for this bottle of world class beer!

Bottled. A hazy red beer with beige head. The aroma has notes of straw, cherreis, and a bit of wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of cherries, malt, and caramel, leading to a tart finish.
