3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 ChainGangGuy (3835) - Canton, Georgia, USA - SEP 19, 2008
Appearance: Pours a clear, pale yellow body and, even with a heavy pour, I still can’t get a head going.
Smell: Spicy nose smelling of clove, coriander, and orange peel layed across some Belgian maltiness.
Taste: Seemingly Belgian malts with a sugary sweetness followed by a big kick of spices, including clove, ginger, coriander, citrus peel, and star anise. Spicy hops are accentuated by the high degree of carbonation present. A touch of honey on the finish with a lingering spiciness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Well carbonated.
Drinkability: Not altogether bad. Let’s just leave it at that, huh?

From a twenty-two ounce bottle Pours pale/white in color, slightly cloudy with a small almost head. Smells of lemons, fruit and malt. First sip is flowery. Very sweet and flowery but with a strong bitter finish. Light bodied with above average carbonation.

Very spicy wit. Lots of coriander, but also hints of cinnamon and a distinct nutmeg component as well. Worth a try.

22oz bottle, courtesy of argo0. Thanks, Aaron! Pours a murky, whitish-golden color; thin head that quickly fades. Good amounts of coriander, orange peel, and creamy vanilla in the aroma. Medium mouthfeel: lively carbonation; white pepper, coriander, and a very creamy, vanilla-laden presence in the aroma; nicely drinkable, pretty solid witbier. Medium finish; dry, toasty malts and some peppery notes.

22oz bottle: Bottle conditioned. Pours to a slightly hazy, very pale yellow colored body with a large white, frothy head that lasts. The aroma shows light flowery hops, dusty wheat, hints of lemon zest, and just a slight earthy yeast scent. Taste initially starts with some sweet wheat bread, with light honey notes, then some flowery hops and spices (I would guess orange zest and corriander, but it almost seems to me as if there is a spice here that I’m missing like jasmine, rose, or almond). Finishes relatively dry with some hints of residual sweetness on the tip of the tongue and lasting light flowery hops. Medium bodied, lively carbonation. Much better when it warms up a bit. Nice clean witbier.

Bomber bonus from RCL. Shared with my girlfriend Cyn. Pours gold with a bright white head. Nose is wheaty and a bit off. Taste is slightly spiced and ok. This is a decent wit.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - JUL 17, 2008
22 ounce bottle from the Beverage Warehouse in Winooski, VT (July 2008), sampled a few minutes out of the fridge from a Duvel glass. Immense perfectly snowy, smooth head recedes slowly with little lacing above the very cloudy deep gold body....musty, earthy aroma with floral (jasmine) and light citrus (lemon) hints, somewhat dusty and old -- in a good way -- seeming....earthy, lightly tart, somewhat mineralic body, very crisp and quaffable, a little on the full side, clean and bright and extremely refreshing, drier than most....no world-beater, but at this moment on a very hot and humid night, just what I want in a witbier.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 beerinmarch (2830) - Washington, USA - JUN 24, 2008
On tap at the brewery. Interesting wit beer with lots of citrus and a soft coriander character. This was a bit overwhelming on the lime character, while unique, it kinda took over. The finish had a mild tartness, smooth wheat character, and subtle spiciness.

Bomber. Hazy yellow with a fluffy white head. Wheaty, spicy coriander and light lemon notes. Spicy flavors, coriander and a bit of allspice, laid over light, tangy citrus and a wheaty spine. A white pepper note shows late. Light, bubbly body that never seems thin. Far, far better than expected!
