COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The name "Grey Lady" comes from the nickname for the often-foggy island for which it is brewed. This hazy, Belgian-style Wit emits a complex, earthy nose with sophisticated notes. The sift, malty mid-palate has wicked good zesty hints but gives way to a delectably dry finish. Quenching!

22 ounce bottle from the Beverage Warehouse in Winooski, VT (July 2008), sampled a few minutes out of the fridge from a Duvel glass. Immense perfectly snowy, smooth head recedes slowly with little lacing above the very cloudy deep gold body....musty, earthy aroma with floral (jasmine) and light citrus (lemon) hints, somewhat dusty and old -- in a good way -- seeming....earthy, lightly tart, somewhat mineralic body, very crisp and quaffable, a little on the full side, clean and bright and extremely refreshing, drier than most....no world-beater, but at this moment on a very hot and humid night, just what I want in a witbier.

MN Ratebeer Winter Gathering, January 10, 2009. Courtesy of Beastiefan2k. Hazy yellow color with no head. Aroma of coriander and orange. Very wheaty. Strong coriander, light orange. A bit watery. Quite good.

Smells just like a Belgian wit. Flavor is fairly heavy on the orange with a little bit of wheat. A pretty solid beer.

Cloudy yellow. Aroma has yeast, bubblegum, and coriander. Flavor has beef jerkey and more coriander with a little citrus. Some sweetness, but for the style, not that sweet really.

Appearance: Pours a clear, pale yellow body and, even with a heavy pour, I still can’t get a head going. Smell: Spicy nose smelling of clove, coriander, and orange peel layed across some Belgian maltiness. Taste: Seemingly Belgian malts with a sugary sweetness followed by a big kick of spices, including clove, ginger, coriander, citrus peel, and star anise. Spicy hops are accentuated by the high degree of carbonation present. A touch of honey on the finish with a lingering spiciness. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Well carbonated. Drinkability: Not altogether bad. Let’s just leave it at that, huh?

On tap at the Cisco Brew Pub, Boston Logan Airport. A strange luminous grapefruit colour with a soft white head; aroma of cream soda with a dash of lime; soft grainy textrure with a sweet citrus taste; the finish is rather thin and dry, but has some lingering sweet lemonade. A refreshing wheat beer.

Pours hazy gold into a tumbler. Bright white micro head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Mild citrus and spice aromas. Crisp and funky with a lasting, slightly watered spiced orange finish. Best Iíve had from Cisco so far.

The aroma is slightly off-putting with sour fruit, stale bread, grass, spice, and light vinegar. The appearance is pale gold with a light haze and thin head. The taste is not like the aroma. It is actually unique and pleasant with sweet fruit, bread, spice, and a touch of citrus soft drink. The palate is thin. Overall not much to this but itís interesting.

12oz can. Unfiltered bright yellow-tan. Steady, creamy, white head. Quite spicy, zesty coriander, sage,,who knows what. Has a nice mouthfeel, easy light to medium body. Id probably really enjoy this one if it werenít spiced...as it is it doesnít really do it for me despite the pleasant body, mouthfeel.

22oz bottle. Bright yellow, clear. White fizzy head with big carbonation. Spicy aroma. Not peppery, but sweet. Big coriander, some lavender, lemon, honey, sweet roasted corn on the cob. Flavor is a bready body. Full alt character. Some honey flavors as well. Medium body. A nice American Wit. 13 sept 08
