3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Picked up from the foreign bottle bar (Biers Sans Frontiers), GBBF 13, ĺ pint bottle. Clear amber coloured body. Two-finger sized off-white head with good retention. Spotty lacing down the glassware. Dusty hops and mid-sweet, earthy malts to the nose. Flavours of malty sweetness nicely blended with fresh apricot and lemon. Dry bitter endnotes. Refreshing with fine drinkability (shared with Finn H at his place in TromsÝ 30.10.2013).

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
14th September 2013
Lightly hazy amber beer, good white head. Palate is light and dry. Fine minerally carbonation. Odd flavour of hazlenuts! The hops are mellow pine and citrus. Light caramel. Different!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear, very dark amber body with an off-white head.
Spicy citrus aroma. Resiny - more spruce than pine.
This has a strange flavor profile to it. Bitter and dry. I canít identify where the strange flavor comes from.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
FROM NOTES: June 29, í12
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass.
A: The aroma is resiny and citrusy, but more subtle than other IPAs.
A: Pours a dark, oily, orange, with a nice white, finger-width head that clings nicely to the side of the glass and leaves nice lacing.
T: Surprisingly, this doesnít have the hop kick that I suspected, but has a nice balanced mixed of hops over a noticeable malt backbone. After a few more sips, the complexity of this American IPA becomes evident, despite missing the hop overload one would expect.
P: A smooth mouth-feel with a good deal of carbonation. Quite sticky with the hop after taste, as well as a malt touch in the front of the mouth.
O: This is a very quaffable brew that is perhaps to subtle for itís own good. While initially subdued, the finish is very hoppy, but still short of what I would think an American IPA should be.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: APR 20, 2014 22 oz Bomber. The beer pours to a slightly cloudy orange/copper color with a very thick slightly off white head. The aroma has a slightly sweet caramel & bread with very little hop scent to it. The taste was mostly malt up front with a medium body & a skunky aftertaste. Not sure the age of the beer but it is not one i would try again. Not an IPA to me at all.

Sample at SBWF 2013. Smel of citrusy hops and also a light note of liqourice. Similar taste, light maltbase.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from the Great British Beer Festival 2013. Poured a hazy copper colour with a thin white head. Sweet aroma of brown sugar, caramel and butterscotch. Initial flavours of toffee and sweet malt with some pine like hops low down in the mix. Palate is more butterscotch, maple syrup and a little hop resin. Hops were DOA it would appear.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Hazy amber nice white head that left lacing. Pine hop aroma and some caramel malt. Satisfying palate but the hop flavor is not to my liking.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a murky orange with head fading to a ring, floating sediment, and great lacing. Aroma is apricots and tons of milk chocolate malt. Strange and unexpected for an IPA. Taste is malt forward with sweet orange flavor balanced with some grass in the end. Aroma and taste donít match - which is fine, but this is on the fringes of IPA territory with how malt forward it is. Itís an enjoyable beer to drink and hard to rate any lower, but itís not what Iíve come to know as an IPA. Label says best before date on bottle, and thereís no date on the bottle - so thatís a bummer. No glaring flaws, but just feels a little disparate and hollow. A different IPA for sure, and a good entry IPA for the hop averse.
