COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Finally an American-style IPA from us... This beautiful red-orange ale has a full malty body balanced by a fruity apricot/grapefruit nose. Mounds of dank Summit hops in the whirlpool and dry-hop additions provide a deliciously quenching finish to this East meets West-coast ale.

This poured copper in color with a thin off-white head. The aromas were on the simply side showing off some soapy citrus (orange pulp), light caramel and a bit of florals. In the mouth it was medium-bodied with nice balance and a mildly dry and bitter finish.

Aroma is sweet and hopped, but a tad stale and vinegary. Poured a nice deeper brown/orange, but without a big nice head. End carbonation is an off white ring. Taste is hopped but bitter and vinegary. Palate was a bit frothy.

This one poured a medium orange color with an off white head. Aroma was of light caramel, grassy hops and some citrus. Flavor was balanced, not too sweet or malty, but mainly stale and bitter hops. Ok but wouldn;t buy again.

Copper color with no head. Light spice aroma. Medicinal and grainy taste. Light bitterness.

From a bottle. Copper color with a long lived, lacing white head. Malt aroma. Flavor has dry malt and mildly bitter hops. A middle-range ipa that could use some more flavor, but perhaps is closer to an American pale ale.

The aroma had a danky weedy scent at first and then it had a good malty blend. A nice balanced citrusy hoppy english malt flavor. Pretty decent beer, not at all what I expected.

Nose: cocoa, muted dank hops (not in a bad way, just not bright and citrusy). Taste: initial hit is cocoa, unexpectedly. Good level of hop bitterness. Balances malt nicely. Again, less citrusy to my palate.

12oz can. Nice IPA, but nothing special. Decent hop aroma and bitterness. Whales tale pale ale is better.

shonobiwan (178) - Sound Beach, New York, USA - FEB 5, 2013
Long Island, New York - 12 oz. bottle poured a hazy dark caramel color with mediocre off white head but good lacing. Aroma was of floral hoppiness. Taste was rather mild, but all the citrus characteristics were there. The bitter bite was not as crisp as it should be for an IPA. Not bad... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

1/19/13. 12oz bottle. Hazy amber pour, mostly brown, almost cloudy/muddy, actually, with a small khaki head that laces well. Sweet, floral, fruity, earthy hop aroma with burnt caramel. Very laid back hops with earthiness, caramel, dirt, and metal. Eh.

12 oz. can. Pours dark red amber with a large foamy off white head that slowly fades to a film and lacing. Aroma is citrus earthy soil lemon peel with subtle malt mixed. Taste is malty bitter caramel and citrus with lemon peel and earthy overtones and hidden spice. Palate is medium and drying. Solid average bitter IPA!
