750 ml bottle sample. Pours a hazy orange golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have tart lemony citrus, yeast, wheat malts, and a briny saltiness, the mouthfeel and body of these rarely work for me, just ok.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow color, thick white head. Aroma of earthy mint and spice. Taste has mixed spice, raw bread. OK.

Sampled via bottle at WTWBA 2014 in Minneapolis. Golden pour with a white head. Soft citrus and a fair amount of saltiness. Okay.

Draft sample at Cincy Beerfest 2014 on Fountain Square. Pours a pale straw yellow gold with a huge white head. Like, massive. Really hazy beer underneath. The aroma has the requisite salt and some lemon tartness and bread and straw, but there’s also a funky, cheesy, almost pukey thing there. The flavor is outrageously salty, with nearly as much lemon tartness. It’s like a mouthful of ocean water and a splash of lemon. Light-bodied, with a salty, tart mouthfeel and high, soft carbonation. There’s absolutely no balance or subtlety here. Seems recklessly constructed, which is odd for a place that I’ve had such great sours from.

UPDATED: OCT 3, 2014 On tap at Local Cantina in Grandview. Gold pour with thin white head. Aroma of spice and citrus. Tastes are wheat, salt, light tart, various other spices, lemon. Not a lot to it, but I’m a sucker for salt so nice enough for me.

Draft. Poured a hazy orange color with an average white frothy head that lasted with good lacing. Good aroma of wheat, salt and sour fruit. Medium body with thick smooth texture and soft carbonation. Good sour flavor with a complex sour finish of medium duration. Interesting complex brew.

on tap at the Distillery in Savannah. Pours light golden amber, thin cream head. nose has some wheat, spice. taste is light crackers, a lot of flowery hops... like chewing on a pine cone. I asked the bar tender to pour me whale pale they had on tap to make sure he did not miss pour. he did not, that was very different. this beer. very disappointing. no sour, just lots of hop cones.

JBPortland (911) - Portland, Maine, USA - AUG 11, 2014
UPDATED: AUG 13, 2014 750ml bottle pours semi clear pale gold with a finger of head. Nose is musty straw, ginger, and salty citrusy lemon. Taste is creamy malty grain, bready, ginger ale, cream soda, lemon, milky, not much tartness. Finish is creamy malty grain and soft lemon spice. Weird, creamy, bready. Way past its prime. Any reputable craft beer store should be pulling this off the shelves.

Pours cloudy golden with low white head. Aroma of funk, wheat, light salt, honey. Taste is modest funk with light sweet finish. Crisp, light body with average carbonation.
