hazy gold, thin white head. Herbaceous nose is basil, cotton candy, light citrus. Flavor even more herbaceous, stings basil and earth. Maybe a spice beer, definitely not gose. Prickly carbonation.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
10/28/13. On tap at The Distillery in Savannah. I either had a weird keg/bad batch/whatever or the shelf turd below me has a broken tongue. Hazy dark golden pour with a small khaki head. Surprising aroma, not much funk or tartness, just yeast esters and malty sweetness. Sweet malty flavor, heavy handed on the salt, malty sweet and too savory, really lacking in tartness or and refreshing aspects. Meh. (Despite the obvious "gose" salt aspect, I double checked with the bartender to make sure he gave me the right beer, and he said he did).

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ Beachwood Brewing. Hazed golden pour with a white head. Aroma is fairly tart and lactic. Lots of lemon, some salt/brine, and a mild funk. Tart yogurt, banana, and a hint of grass. Nice. Flavor is mildly sweet with some banana, bread, and maybe peach. Tart lemon juice and yogurt with a bit of saltiness.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sour funk, citrus, and grass in the aroma. Despite the strong funk in the aroma, the flavor is a lot more subtle and pleasant with citrus, banana, and a little bubble gum. Some sour funk in the finish, and aggressive carbonation gives a nice mouthfeel. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but this was part hefeweizen, part saison, part lambic, and all good.

750ml bottle in a tulip. Pours hazy golden/amber with a small, white head. Aroma of salt, some light herbs/spices, a little bit of pale and caramel malts, and a little funk. Flavor the same with a little too much salt. Average texture. Not bad, but the recipe needs some work.
