3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
750 cc from PUBR. Thick black pour, no head. Nose is plum, fig, perfumy hops, dark malt. Tastes of charred molasses, fig, plum, black gumdrop, walnut. Intense roasty ad charred flavor as it warms, more molasses, black licorice. OK, not great. Many flaws in this. Still, tons better than the best Budweiser.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
One of the best smelling stouts I?ve ever come across. Boozy nose with a tad of licorice and chocolate, but hard to describe. It?s almost completely flat, the flavor is of roast fruitish sweetness, chocolate, touch of coffee, and finishes malty sweet.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a deep black with a dense tan head that stays. Big heavy roast and alcohol on the nose with cocoa and dark malt. Medium to thick bodied. Lots of roast, warming alcohol with a long roast and a ton of chocolate. Dusty cocoa into the finish, chocolate, long and warm on the finish. Thanks for sharing JB.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Vermont. Lots of coffee influence in this with the palate and the nose. Palate is simple - roasted notes, tootsie roll, dark chocolate, anise. A bit of heat/booze in the 1st sip. Nose i meh - grain, booze, dark malt. Decent lacing, rest of appearance is dark brown with orange. Overall this is a bit on the simplistic side for an RIS.

1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
2014 bottle. Hard to rate this. Beer was flat. Seemed like it would have been good but just couldn’t get passed the lack of carbonation.
