Roast malt and rich dark chocolate. Well done with a good balance and good bite. Well disguised alcohol. Black pour with good head and lacing. Light caramel and a light bittersweet finish. Creamy and thick. I like this one. Tap at Max’s.

Bottle share at Hampton Inn pre-DLD party. Pour is black with a small mocha head. Aroma and flavor are both of roasted malts, light coffee, black licorice, chocolate, and a touch of dried fruit. Lots of booze in the finish.

Slight coffee aroma, but not very aromatic. Nice dark look with a good amount of light brown head. Liked this beer allot.

Sampled from a bottle. Black, and low carbonation. Dry roast with some chocolate and dry. Thick and heavy on the palate. ok.

Candi sugar, chocolate and some citrus notes on nose. Big time alcohol with this one, still pick up bittersweet chocolate, dark fruit and brown sugar notes. This really nice for the price

Bottle from Jaspers, thanks for the Gift Certificate Mike. Pours a solid black with a huge creamy tan head that persists forever and sticks to everything. Huge hoppy nose of pine resin and citrus with a solid roasty smokey sweet malty base. Mild papery oxidation on the nose as well. Sweet sugary malt flavor with bits of roast and dark chocolate. Plum and anise midway through before a sweet molasses and chocolate with a twinge of alcohol finishes us off. Medium to thick body with a light level of carbonation and a sweet creamy silky mouthfeel. Nice imperial stout.

Wow. I picked this up on the island back in August 2013. I just opened it. Beautiful. Sweet, sour, chocolately and everything you expect from an expensive wine...but it's beer. Goes right to your head. I will drink the complete bottle tonight. Velvet and warmth. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown, almost black, body with a nice creamy tight bubbled brown head that had decent retention. The nose is very rich and decadent, lots of roast, burnt caramel, dark fruits, chocolate, a light tobacco note. Just a hint of alcohol, which is impressive given the immense ABV on this guy. The booziness of the flavor is the first thing that grabs my attention though, man is this stuff humming with alcohol. Plenty of burnt caramel sweetness, burnt malt, dark chocolate, rich dark fruits and a pretty pronounced tobacco note in the flavor. There’s a lot of positive stuff and lots of nice flavors in here, but it just isn’t very drinkable because of all the alcohol. 25 ounces of this guy is going to be a bit challenging. Medium to full bodied, a little clingy, soft minimal carbonation. Decent in a small serving perhaps, but I don’t need this much of it.

750 ml bottle shared with the group (06/2013). Pours black with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have dark roasted malts, big earthy hops, some herbal notes, dark fruit, cocoa and even a hint of peat. On the dry side with a hefty body, this is interesting. I generally don’t go for the hoppy imperial stouts, but this is different enough that I like it. Hides the 13.5% pretty well.
