3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle shared by DrSilverworm. Pours a clear golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have tart green apples, lemon citrus, nice sour acidity, but it doesn’t pop like I hoped it would probably because the carbonation was softer, still good but at the price I want more.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle, shared. Clear golden color. Thin off-white head, kind of bubbly, fades to minimal. Kind of a stronger, softer carbonation than I expect from a gueuze, fades to a level I like after a bit, though. Medium plus body, kind of slick. Sastisfying bigger sour taste, tang, moderate sweet taste. Oak, big lemon citrus, mild funkiness. Up front there was a lot of green apple, but that becomes less noticeable as it opens and warms up. Solid sour ale, was hoping for more from this though... Seems to be lacking something for me. Little too tangy maybe. Not quite refreshing like I kinda expected.

Clear light yellow pour with a white head. Smells like cat piss. Mild sourness. Not really sure what I’m tasting. Kinda wacky. Average body and mouthfeel.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 mL purchased at Whole Foods P Street in DC. 95% clear golden pour, bubbly off-white head that dissipates very quickly. Nose and flavor are lovely, with good notes of white grapefruit rind, lemon flesh, nice vibrant hints of peach and mango, intriguing fruity booze hints of Cointreau and even a touch of Grand Marnier. Definitely some good tannic and wooden funk, though balanced by just a touch of American style acidity that definitely differentiates this from a Belgian sour. Despite that, it’s beautifully restrained in that area, contributing to a quenching and balanced tartness that doesn’t come across as overbearing whatsoever. Low to medium body, medium to high carbonation. Really extraordinary well done again from a brewery that makes hilariously delicious sours considering how pedestrian their regular lineup is. Delicious stuff.
