Bottle from TPatuto...thanks Tom! - Pours yellow and clear, with a thin ring of off-white head. Smells of nice, oaky tartness, vinegar, white grape, apple, and pear. Taste is clean vinegar tartness with mellow oak and white grape. There’s a sharper oak in the finish, but still pretty mellow. Good carbonation and slick. Great stuff.

750mL c&c. From DeVinos on U St for about $18. Pours hazed straw with huge effervescence and a moderate white head leaving soapy lace. Rich, funky nose with heavy, annoying phenols masking rich biscuit, dough, pineapple, and blood orange. As it warms and decants and gains more dregs from the bottle, there is more mango, pineapple, and clean chardonnay funk with muted vanilla. Taste is quite citric and super fruit acid tangy with massive lemon, lime, blood orange, and medium white grapefruit. Tangy, sour, leathery palate. Very good. Fuller lacing. Richer pineapple sorbet as it warms. All encompassing sour palate. Easy 4.0. No acetic. Very refreshing. Like chugging pineapple limeade. Oh yeah. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, courtesy GT2. Thanks brosef. Pours hazy gold with a massive white head, which dissipates but leaves some lace/retention. Aroma of lemon lime, funk, chardonnay, light barrel. Taste is intensely lemon-lime sour, vanilla, white wine, citrus. Palate is dry, lively carbonation, puckering finish. Very good.

Pours gold into a tumbler. Bright white micro head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Funky oak and tropical fruit aromas. Tart summer fruit upfront turning to yeast and oak in the lasting sour finish.

Sour and yeasty, this is lip puckering like biting into a lemon. The aroma suggests that this wild ale is at the extreme sour side of the spectrum, but until I tasted it did I realize how far it actually is. Wow.

From notes. First reviewed 8/10/2011. Poured from a 750 mL caged and corked bottle into a tulip. Lady of the Woods has a full cloudy golden color with a creamy pangea of a white head. The Brett funk is quite forward in the nose, with some sour green apple, pear, and white grape notes. This is slightly sour with some pleasant barnyard funk. White grape and some pear dominate the fruit. The finish has a lingering tartness. This is fairly dry, with a light to medium body and full carbonation. While on my current sour kick, I developed a new rule: if all else fails, add Brett. There is enough funk and sour flavors in here to keep my palate off balance, but it is not over the top. This is a refreshing beer to relax with.

Draft @ Coalhouse Pizza. This is a crisp, light ale with lots of character of white wine coupled with some woody notes from the malts. Different, but worth a try.
