3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sampled at an esbls tadtin. Ok a good sample. Thanks JRorie. This looks and tastes like lemonade. Somewhat sour and a bir powdery. Some more complex fruit but lemons dominate. Good stuff.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Reminds me of the sours of russian river. Light, effervescent, tart, refreshing, nice sour acidity. Fruity, mellow oak. A great one.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle poured into a tulip glass. Pours light copper color with a 1" white head that fizzed away pretty quickly, no lacing around the glass. Nose is citrus, lemons, vinous. Taste is pretty much the same. Sour! Not my thing.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from The Charleston Beer Exchange. Golden color; a fairly vigorous pour generates a one finger head that quickly fades to a thin layer. Citrusy aroma with peach and lemon leading the way. A touch floral with plenty of funky brett influence and some lavender-like herbal character. This isn’t super sour going down but a mild acid burn allows this to be refreshingly tart. It’s funky and horsey overall with sour citrus fruity flavors. There’s some oak character too but that’s secondary. A very light nail polish remover note sits far in the background but it seems to be there. The flavors seem a tad thin compared to the aroma but this is still a nice refreshing sour to enjoy on a warm day. Not worth the price but I had no real problems with this one.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml bottle. Pours a highly carbonated clear gold with a decent head that dies to a thin film very quickly. The many bubbles clinging to the side of the glass either show me its carbonation level or the fact that my glass needed a better cleaning. Either way, the aroma is interesting to say the least. Very heavy with wood... White oak and an odd cedar plank kind of thing going. Grapefruit and lemon peel tartness are there as is a Brett-like barnyard funkiness. All told, I’m very eager to sip this one and hope it delivers on the promises from the nose. Drat. It doesn’t. Don’t get me wrong... It’s a decent sour, but it promised so much more. The flavor is a little washed out, but it has an odd and unexpected coconut edge to it that gives it a uniqueness that I find compelling. Lemony tartness is the main focus and the wood seems to sit a little in the background. The carbonation has quickly fled and it seems flat on the palate, which translates into a little bit of a boring plot development. All told, it is unique and very nice, but sadly it doesn’t quite live up to the aroma’s billing.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, 09/20/2012. Pours hazy golden orange, thin white head burns away from the acidity, thin ring of lacing. Aroma of lemon, sour white fruits, oak, and quite a bit of leather, horse blanket funk. Definitely very rustic. Taste is tart, acidic citrus and tropical fruit, vinegar. Medium light, sparkling palate. Alright.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
From the September 2012 3R6P gathering. +++ Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a pale yellow color with a small foamy white head. The aroma was funky, bretty and sour with a hint of vinegar and a touch of banana. The flavor was strong lemon, dry, tart, chalk and vinegar. Powerfully sour and astringent. Long tart vinegar and chalk finish. Medium length and body. Odd.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle with James at Ginger Man. 09.04.2012. From snifter. Peach color, no head. Aroma of vinegar and dry fruit. Palate is sharply acidic yet not too puckery. More acid than sour, but fruit is not totally overwhelmed by that acidity. Not something I’ve never experienced before in a sour, but still awesome. Very well done.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
2012-08-18. Dark yellow body with a small white head. 3+ Lightly woody, fruit, mild musty quality. 7+ Flavour is fairly sour, modest wood grows as you go. Not super complex, or perhaps I lack the sensitivity to dissect it? Enjoyable but more woody than my preference. Average bodied palate. Decent. Bottle, Campground Brewdown 2012 shared by GT2
