COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Two year old Nantucket Flemish-style red aged on whole sour cherries for 10 months. This is similar to sipping the idea of what a "cherry" is... UNREAL.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, huge big thanks to Dave for the pour. Clear orange-red pour with thin to no head, aroma has notes of big funky basement, cheese, hints of dust, slight lemon and lactic sour notes, nice tart cherry skin and black cherry notes, hints of raspberry as well, touch of vanilla, amazing. Taste is super nice cherry skin and pit, some sour and black cherry, raspberry, hints of blackberry, some nice sour lemon, lactic notes with a hint of acetic burn but not bad, slight funky notes but overall very clean, hints of cracker and vanilla. Nice fine carbonation plays well, this is very well crafted.

Bottle shared by mdfb79. Thanks Dan! A: This beer pours a deep ruby hue with a quarter inch of white head that leaves some decent lacing behind. S: Really fabulous aroma of tart cherries and some funk. T: A very tasty brew, with flavors of oak, tart cherries, and funk. M: Acetic and a bit biting, in the best possible way. The mouthfeel is otherwise light. D: A very tasty beer. I would definitely have this again. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 12-22-2010

UPDATED: JUL 29, 2012 750 ml bottle to oversized snifter (thanks ernesto and reynolds). Looks okay; a hazy amber with next to no carbonation. Smells solid; sweet, sour, and notes of malt and burnt caramel, vinegar, and butterscotch. Tastes like some diacetyl. Infected?

Bottle. Pours a nice red with no head and very little carbonation. Tart cherry nose with some barnyard notes. Med body with more sour cherries, strong spice notes and lingering funk. Sweet and sour finish with more spices. Feels hot. A different sour from most.

750 mL bottle from Grape & Gourmet. The pour is reddish brown with a few bubbles but no head. Aroma of apple cider vinegar and very tart cherries. No surprises in the flavor; apple cider vinegar, tart cherry, and a plentiful amount of oak. There is no doubt this is a sour ale but the flavors are well integrated and not too overwhelming. A nicely done sour.

The aroma is tart cherry, vanilla, wood, funk. The appearance is a brown/red translucent, off white head. The flavor is tart cherry, vanilla, funk, vinegar. The finish is cherries, both tart and sweet. Medium in body, actually slightly thick. Quite good.

Sour cherry aroma. Cloudy copper, thin yellow head. Tart cherry flavor, some twigs. Straight forward and simple but quite well made. Surprisingly good.

Bottle @ 18th RG. Pretty auburn, not much head. Nice sour smell, plus fruit almost like a vinaigrette but not as harsh. Nice sour, strong tart flavor.

Sampled at the at 18th Richmond gathering. Clear reddish brown pour and ring of white head. Almost totally flat. Smells delicious and a little vinegar. Flavor is slightly acidic and good dark cherry. Just need some carbonation to take this thing to the next level.
