COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Two year old Nantucket Flemish-style red aged on whole sour cherries for 10 months. This is similar to sipping the idea of what a "cherry" is... UNREAL.

A reddish burgundy mahogany kriek with a very thin brown head. In aroma, beautiful cerise confite, with light acidity, seltzer, smooth caramel. In mouth, a smooth sweet caramelized cherries with lactic acids, maraschino, lemon juice, very smooth and complex. Tasted mid June 2012.

Bottle… Mostly clear burnt caramel ale with no head. The aroma is a fruity swirl of dark cherries, oak, cherry skins, vanilla and caramel. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and flat-as-a-pancake carbonation. The flavor is very tart – bordering on sour – fruity and a touch funky. Finishes tart and then falls sort of flat and lifeless. Very, very nice, but this one could have used some tingle to it. Bottle courtesy of ksurkin!

750 ml bottle at DC local gathering. Bright red color, no head or lacing. Aroma of sour fruit. Taste is full bodied, but more like cherry juice concentrate with a sour edge. Decent.

750ml, caged and corked bottle. Poured a deeper mahogany color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of cherries, very light funk, lighter wood, and lighter vinegar. Tastes of cherries, light vinegar, cherry, wood and citrus. Lighter tart finish.

BMan1113VR (7377) - Los Angeles, California, USA - APR 25, 2011
Bottle via a trade. Pours with a hazed ruby-red hue and a small off-white head. Aromas are lightly acetic, balsamic vinegar, vinous, red wine, lacto, oak, funk, pie cherries, cherry pits, with a little bit of sweetness imparted by the cherries. Flavors are sour, strongly lactic, some acetic, dry puckering and quite sour. Light sweetness, pie cherries. The funk is nice, but tastes a bit unrefined next to a Lost Abbey or Russian River sour. Light oak. Finishes bone dry. Easy to drink, puckering, tannins. lively bubbles. Well done.

LCBS 2010. Reddish pour, light colored head. Aroma is all cherries all the time. Flavor is cherry pie, nice and tart. Light acedic qualities...maybe a hint of raspberry red wine vinegar. Mouth wateringly good.

Sammy (7034) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 17, 2011
Good but not outstanding kriek, perhaps needs some ageing to take some edge off. Pours reddish colour with good amount of head. Strong aromas of bleach and cherry. Full mouthfeel but the boldness also includes carbonation that I would have liked to be softer. Not sweet at all, its straight up dry cherry in your face, more of a sipper over a couple of hours, still great flavours if you like tartness. Thanks Michael- Pollack.

A: The pour is a nice red color with a moderate cloudiness and a short lived pink head. S: Starts off with a good cherry pie sort of aroma and a fair amount of tartness. There is a hint of grass along with a fairly strong wet, oaky presence. T: A pretty simple flavor to this beer. A mix of sweet and tart cherries with a big time cherry pie character. Again, the grass is there as is the strong oak background. M: The body is light to medium with a nice crisp carbonation. Unfortunately, the finish on this is really short and sort of leaves you wanting more. D: Not a bad beer at all. It’s just a little simple and certainly lacking in the complexities of a true, traditional lambic beer.

DocLock (6789) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 22, 2010
750 cc from Capone’s. Pours turbid ruddy ruby mahoganyish with minimal off-white pinkish head. Nose is sublime; a medley of earthy tart cherries, dank dusty estery peat, lactic acidity, and mild yeasty notes. Tastes tart as hell, almost at a Cantillon-like level of tartness, with huge cherry, earthy, woody, and lactic flavors. Rich palate, very complex, smooth, mouth-puckering throughout, and absolutelty delicious. This is a world class kriek.

C&C 750 mL bottle shared by MaltDawg at the 18th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering. Pours a slightly hazy brownish-red color with a thin head. Poor head retention. Aroma of very tart cherries, citrus and pepper. The taste is earth, pepper, tart cherries. Medium bodied, very low carbonation.
