COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Two year old Nantucket Flemish-style red aged on whole sour cherries for 10 months. This is similar to sipping the idea of what a "cherry" is... UNREAL.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, huge big thanks to Dave for the pour. Clear orange-red pour with thin to no head, aroma has notes of big funky basement, cheese, hints of dust, slight lemon and lactic sour notes, nice tart cherry skin and black cherry notes, hints of raspberry as well, touch of vanilla, amazing. Taste is super nice cherry skin and pit, some sour and black cherry, raspberry, hints of blackberry, some nice sour lemon, lactic notes with a hint of acetic burn but not bad, slight funky notes but overall very clean, hints of cracker and vanilla. Nice fine carbonation plays well, this is very well crafted.

Thanks to Exiled for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a rusty red color with a white head. The aroma is strong cherries, oak and vanilla. The flavor is exactly what I expected after smelling the beer. I get a lot of tart cherries with some oak and vanilla notes. Very drinkable and very dry. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bottle at WtWBA Brooklyn 2012. Pours a deep murky red body with not much head, but lots of white lacing. Aroma is sharp, sour cherry and funk. Mouthfeel is tart with notes of sour cherries and oak. Very straight forward, but I really dug this cherry sour.

25 oz bottle. Pours a beautiful bright ruby red body under a creamy and frothy pink tinged beige head. The nose is nicely tart and slightly acidic with bright sour cherries, nicely woody, some slight almond/pitty notes. They managed to keep the acidity to an acceptable level, which is a nice change of pace from many American Sours. The tartness from the cherries is really bright and vibrant. There’s a slight sweetness on the back end before the sour comes on that is very reminiscent of authentic Flemish Reds. Very well attenuated and in balance as far as the ’wild’ character goes. Medium bodied with nice pinpoint carbonation that really brings out the tartness. Very well done, this is the second in the ’Woods’ series that I’ve had and it’s the second winner!

Bottle: The aroma consists of lots of cherry (sweet and tart) along with a touch of vanilla. It pours a transparent brownish-orange with a minimal off-white head that quickly fades to a ring. The flavor starts with a quick dose of sweet cherry. The finish turns to tart cherry, sour lemon, cinnamon, and vanilla.

Pours deep ruby-tinged mahogany into a tulip. Off-white head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Oaked rum and cherry aromas. Medium bodied with sour cherry upfront turning oaky in the lasting tart cherry finish.

Bottle at stone sour ale fest. Dark red pour, with an off-white head. Lots of cherries in this.. sweet cherry pie, a bit of vinegar, tart cherry, oak and more oak, and lacto. A nice sour, not among the best, but still very good.

Big thanks to Alex for bringing this and stopping me from trading it, now we’ve had all "woods" beers...A dark ruby red body, very deep color complexity, only a little transparent. The light pinkish head provides a thin whispy cap, not much lacing...The aroma is great as it actually reminds me of a Belgian Kriek, sweet yet tart cherries, cherry syrup, funk, musky, just good...The taste is a letdown, guess I was expecting more after such an authentic start. The front is basically devoid of flavor, then I get a bit of sour, and only a bit of cherries. Disappointing, but some nice oaky flavors come through and try to put in a save. Needs to be more sour...The feel is very dry with a nice finish...Super easy to drink. One of the best American Krieks out there. I can’t totally recommend as there are so many better Belgian options but if offered I would drink again. Wouldn’t trade for it though.

Bottle thanks to dabecassis on BA. Pours hazy ruby red in color with minimal head, just a small ring. Rich sweet cherry and spice aroma, maybe a little funk. Cherry flavor, sweet and mildly tart with spice. Not too complex, a little soda-like. Medium-bodied with average carbonation and a long finish. Better than Cherry Woods and Dark Woods, but not quite excellent for the style.

Sampled at the at 18th Richmond gathering. Clear reddish brown pour and ring of white head. Almost totally flat. Smells delicious and a little vinegar. Flavor is slightly acidic and good dark cherry. Just need some carbonation to take this thing to the next level.
