On Nantucket a Pumple named Drumkin, brewed up some great ale with his pumpkins. One and all came to savor the delicious flavor, then wobbled around quite like bumpkins. At Cisco they thought, "The is De-Lish! Letís make some more because we wish, to please all the tourists, and locals and purists, with the best ale that we can accomplish!"

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, caramel), lightly hoppy (grapefruit), with light notes of squash/pumpkin, clove, rose flower water, Listerine. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Rather unbalanced in the mouth with a slightly unpleasant aftertaste (overly spiced, I think). Mild aroma is ok but not very enticing and a tad medicinal. Meh.

12 oz bottle from Spirits. Poured a good looking deep orange body with lots of clinging bubbles and an average sized slightly creamy light beige head. Initial aroma was nice with a burst of spice and pumpkin over a brown bread malty background. This quickly changed with grassy hops coming out and then fading back to spice and malts. The body is medium to fuller with aggressive large bubble carbonation that leaves a slight sting in the back of your throat. The flavor isnít that great, the spice and pumpkin really are dumbed down like pumpkin beer light, brown toast follows and finishes with dry cereal grains and dried out hops. Meh....okay at best.

Single bottle from Total Wine. Clear orange pour with a lasting bubbly head. Aroma is faint - pumpkin and fall spice as expected, but not much at all. Taste is similar - very light pumpkin, a little clove, nothing else. Dry, Metallic finish. Very thin and flat - almost like green tea on the tongue. Did not like this at all.

Copper pour with decent head. Tastes and smells like a saison with hints of pumpkin and spice. Quite good. Doesnít make the mistake that most pumpkin beers do. It goes easy on the spice and sweetness. It has room for more pumpkin flavor but is good the way it is.

Gold (aged) color, limpid, billowing tan head. Light to medium body but assertive, simple taste, bitter and dry, average length. High carbonation gives the mouthfeel the needed balance, particularly needed if served at warmer temperatures. Cloves, hops, ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from total wine Fort Lauderdale. Pours brown with a thin head. Slight note of pumpkin spice on the nose. Thin mouthfeel. Not much on the tongue. Boring.

Bottle. Mild aroma, pumpkin and spices present but also some more traditional ale aromas from the hops such as floral light citrus. Pours amber thin tan lacing. Mild sweet taste. Light bitter and spice finish. Medium-thin body. Good ale that subtly mixes the season.

Malty aroma has a yeasty overtone and a hint of spice. Pours a clear, dark, bubbly amber with a thick pale wheat head. Malty flavor has a hint of pumpkin and more than a hint of hoppy bitterness. Smooth texture has about average body and not a whole lot of fizz. If not the best pumpkin ale, worthy of at least a try.

Location: Draft at HopsScotch, 10/5/12

Aroma: Thereís a bunch of spices, particularly cinnamon, and some malts on the nose
Appearance: This one pours a clear dark orange color, with a small head and light lace
Flavor: It has a flavor similar to nose, it is light sweet, with spice, and some mild bitterness
Palate: It has a light body and it is a touch watery, with an average carbonation, and a lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: This one was a decent beer, it isnít a top of style offering, but it isnít terrible. Nothing about it really stands out.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden copper with a decent head that dies quickly. Aromas are autumn leaves with little else. Odd... Maybe a slight whiff of spice, but that could be my mind playing tricks. Flavor is an odd mix of a deep amber ale mixed with pie spices that seem to have something a little off with them. Not quite a medicinal edge, but it ainít quite right...
