This is a beautiful clear golden lager with nice white head and carbonation. Light biscuit aroma, but a little sour. Flavor is very satisfying and balanced with the light malts and hops. Finish is slight spice and fruit of the hops. Clean and very refreshing.

12oz bottle. Clear yellow. White head. Aroma of cardboard is perfect. Nice straw. Floral hops flavor, heavy straw / hay. Soapy finish. Yeast profile of this beer makes all of the difference. Clean, well balanced, a very great beer. Good for style. (3489)

UPDATED: JUN 21, 2007 Pours yellow/gold, with a white head. Aroma is hops, malt, and some spices. Flavor is hops, spices, grass, and malt. Heavier body than expected. A really good light beer...probably the best light beer I’ve ever had.

Pour is hazy golden yellow with a thin white head...smell is floral, but delicately so, with a slighty biscuity malt aroma...taste well balanced between the grainy malt flavor and delicate hop bitterness...this is a surprise treat indeed!!!

12 Oz Bottle. Aroma is a gentle, light sudsy barley kernel and toasted almond. Subtle, soapy and with leaf. Pours a heavily opalescent pale gold, straw inflected, with rocky white head above. Flavor has three nice movements, first a bubbly fresh plain, clean malt, mingled with some Cascade hops and general resin and sugar. Then a faint whiff of bready yeast, doughy and creamy. Good middle body. Finishes off with a long, unexpected draw of hops, in good tones of Cascade and other west coasters. All around I was impressed by the body, drinkability and flavor of this beer. The hops are very enjoyable, the yeast character desirable and helping and the smack and body full and refreshing. Good stuff!

Thanks to Clark VV for sending me this bottle. Pours cloudy yellow/gold with a tall white head. If I didn’t know this were supposed to be a light lager I would say it was a belgian wit beer by the look and smell. Very floral spiced nose that reminds me of the t’ij beers. Flavor is much more mild, here is where this beer lacks a bit, but for a light beer it still fricken rocks. Dry earthy hop flavor, very clean lager base but with that fruity belgian esters gives this a really unique flavor. As I sip I catch glimpses of Orval, but not as dry and herbal tasting. What is even stranger is my description of this beer isn’t even close to any of the others below, maybe this bottle was slightly infected, turned out nice though.

Pours a dark golden color with a white foamy head. Head receeds well and leaves a thick lacing along the glass. Nose is grainy with some light grassy hop notes. Palate is failry full with some nice fizziness and a sticky finish. Flavor is a bit lost, kinda dirty. Has some decent grain notes with hints of cereal and a nice bitter finish.

For a light beer and lager this is a fantastic version. It is clean and has nice notes of hops and fruit (lemonish). The mouthfeel is very dense for a lkight beer but yet holds the crispness. Excllent beer.

12 oz bottle (Thanks Pam for the beer of the month club membership). Even from the first sip, this lager really impressed me. Not too much on the aroma, but definitely nothing offensive. Some pleasant notes of light fruit, zesty citrus, pale grains, and toasted lager grass. Pour was pretty nice for a lager, not overly carbonated, a wispy white head that retains fairly well, not overly watery looking, and golden pumpkin orange in color. There’s not a whole not of flavor here, but a few nice subtleties exist. Its light enough to play drinking games, but not at all watery. Some buttery, toasted cereal grains, a nice citrus for a light lager, a few other fruits, and slight flowery grass on the flavor notes. A good and not overly carbonated crispness through out, and well balanced as well, with a pleasant brief lasting bitter finish. Dare I say this is the best light lager I’ve ever had? Definitely, this is good stuff.
