3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A nice amber body with a tan head that had good retention and great lacing, Aroma had a nice sweet malt presence upfront, hints of brown sugar, some spices and a lot of nutmeg. Flavor seemed to be heavy on the nutmeg, some sweetness from the malts complemented the nutmeg. There was a slight spicy flavor in the finish, spicy like chili or something that I can not quite put my finger on. Finish was smooth and the beer was easy to drink.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle courtesy of Drew around Christmas 2010. Saved for our Christmas in July party. Served in a SAVOR snifter.
Pours a very dark copper-bronze color with a short off-white head and some light lacing on the way down. The nose brings some nutmeg and light clove with a touch of cinnamon. The flavor is pretty well-integrated, combining the spices and some bready malt quite well. Light malt and a slight dryness to it. Pretty good winter warmer.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle/22oz - Pours a murky dark reddish brown in color with a very small head and low carbonation. Aroma is quite vegetal with a hint of some spices, but nothing that distinctive. Flavor is a bit unusual... instead of the nutmeg and cinnamon that I expected, I get oregano and rosemary. Finishes with a bitterness that I am not sure is from the spices or the hops. I don;t see having this one with cookies... too weird for me...
