COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The lager is the lightest, most refreshing of our beers. It's a classic Bavarian style lager with a delicious bready malt palate and an assertive noble hop finish. It just makes your mouth beg for more...
Called Winter Vintage when released during the winter.

Bottle. Overall a good representative of the lager type, well balanced. Had this with lobster.

UPDATED: JUL 11, 2014 I poured a 12oz bottle into a pilsner glass. It was bottled on 4/2/14 and cost $2.99 ($0.25 per ounce).

Appearance: Perfectly golden hue over a crystal clear body with plenty of carbonation visible. Pours to a small, bright white, frothy head which retains and laces very well.

Smell: Grassy hops, hay, a hint of lemon peel or citrus character.

Taste: We canít get fresh Czech and German pilsners over here, so having an American take on the style thatís fresh and available is a nice alternative, like Cisco Summer of Lager for example. This is a no frills/by-the-book pilsner and it works because it is exactly what itís supposed to be. A tasty beer of authentic all-malt base, some mineral character, and the hops arenít skimped on, either.

Up front thereís a light sweetness from the golden malts. Some notes of light bread, crackers, and honey. The Noble hops impart some earthy/herbal bitterness as well as a mild spicy flavor, especially through the middle. Additionally sweetness on the finish with a touch of caramel. Iím genuinely surprised and impressed by not only how good this beer is, but by how much I enjoyed it.

Drinkability: Pale lagers and pilsners have their place in the beer world, especially in the summer, and as a seasonal, Cisco Summer of Lager does exactly what itís supposed to do. The mouthfeel is thin, crisp, wet and refreshing with a clean aftertaste. Itís almost too easy to drink as I really like to savor the nuances here. At 5.5% ABV itís just a tad heavier than Iíd prefer, though it does seem quite efficient for its weight as thereís plenty of taste here. Extremely tempting to session.

Bottle (12oz): Pours clear golden. This is a nice lager, but not my favorite type.

Can. Really nice summer lager, a great day drinker (hope they say the Sam about me one day...)

Pours clear amber with substantial white head. Bready malt comes through foremost on the nose while the subtle hop kick comes through on the back end. Smooth and relatively full-bodied. Quite nice.

transparent gold, thin white head, wispy white head good lacing. Grainy nose, tons of toast, strong bitterness. Flavor is buttered crust, tons of toasty grass bitterness mid before lightly milky finish, thin and sticky with a bone dry finish, lightly papery.

Draft pour @ Cisco. Clean, rich gold in glass. Limited head. No lacing. Lager nose with hints of floral hops. Some orange and crackers. Dry, medium body. Apricots offset the simple dough flavors on taste. Mild bitterness on finish.

Poured from can. Good carbonation and impressive head. Excellent interpretation of a real lager with a broad malt backbone, slightly sweet and pleasant hop back bite. New go to staple.
