bottle... in a very Alexesque night filled with 3 barrel aged winter warmers, Chad’ selection was the best, possibly because it was a couple years old... tasted like a sour brown ale with a finish of winter spices, enjoyable and easy to drnk

Bottle from TPatuto - Pours clear ruby with a thin off-white head. Nose is menthol and black licorice, cherries--really light and airy. Taste is milky cherries with light tartness ad fairly heavy oak. Nice fluffy carbonation. With the weird smell and the milky cherries, the whole thing is a little odd.

750ml from State Line. Fairly flat reddish brown pour, a bit of lively carbonation gone too soon. Very strong aroma, a heavily acetic oud brune with just a hint of the idiosyncrasy promised in the ingredients list. Hugely acetic mouthfeel, with just a bit of playful carbonation. Heavy oak, tannins, some deep tart fruit, but not much of the smoked malt or honey is detectable at this point. Perhaps I should have popped this right away? At any rate, solid and enjoyable sour.

Bottle shared by DA. Pours a cloudy reddish color with a small white ehad. A sour woody nose. The flavor is rich sour fruit with some sawdust, cherries, light sweetness in the finish. Very smooth.

750ml bottle in a tulip. Pours brown/ruby with a lacy, cream-colored head. Aroma of sweet tarts, dark fruit and grapes and wine, a little oak, and some spiciness. Flavor the same, with lots of wine and sourness. Smooth texture. A really good beer.

Reddish pour, big foamy head. Vinegar, strawberry, oak, some fruity red wine aromas. Sour flavor with a lot of fruit, strong oak, red wine vinegar. Very enjoyable.

Bottle. Notes of chocolate covered cherries, plum skins, leather, red grapes. Touch of smoke. Moderate lactic acid sourness with a touch of oaky balsamic. Dry. Vinous. Nice body. Complex, tasty winelike beer. Liked quite a bit.

Interesting sour. The aroma is fantastic and reminiscent of Cantillon St Lamvinous, with notes of grape and spices. The taste is a bit vinegar and harsh without much sublety. Id actually recommend drinking a bit colder then you normally would a sour. As it warmed the vinegar really became a bit unpleasant.

750, many good things going on with this beer. Great spices, I love the french oak treatment and the grapes are tasty. The slight funky notes complement instead of overtake. A little vinegar on the finish prevents this from being a complete grand slam. I can’t believe this is the same brewery that makes abortions like whales tale. Newbz.

Thanks to the kind soul who opened this at the last Tampa Crew Tasting. Pours brown with red highlights and an off-white head. Nose is cherries, malt, vinegar, wood, dark vinous fruit, and some hints of spice. Flavor is similar with cherries and vinous fruit, some oaky tartness, and hints of vinegar. Finish lingers with vinegar and some cherries. Nice sour.
