COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
XVII is a lager that was brewed using a floor malted bohemian pilsner malt and decocted twice. This old-world wort was boiled with new world hops creating intense bitterness, flavor, and aroma. Fermented slowly by a lager yeast for three weeks it was then ready to be dry hopped to oblivion over the course of the next 5 weeks. Is 100 IBUs really all we can get into a beer? Hhhhhhmmmmm....

On tap at the Cask Republic. Aroma glistens with hop oils, fresh and if I had to guess in the Nelson Sauvin or Galaxy. It had that pungent white wine and pale citrus quality. The extra-strong hop nose lessens a bit in the flavor realm, but holds on to a nicely terse and biting grassiness. The bummer here is that anything "lager" is obliviated by the intense dry-hopping, which puts this beer out of balance a little.

ROGUE (2086) - Newark, Delaware, USA - SEP 17, 2013
On tap at Capones. Poured an opaque, golden color with a low bubbly, white head. Aromas of lemongrass and peppery spice, as well as cedar and pine notes. Flavors are lemon on the backbone, with cedar overtones leading to a very bitter, tangy aftertaste. The citrus notes overpower a bit on the palate. The finish is tangy, spiced, and slightly drying. Lighter body with moderate carbonation.

Bottle 22fl.oz.

Light unclear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, moderate to heavy hoppy, citrus, grass, lime. Quit refreshing. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, peel bitter, citrus, lime. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130225]

Draft at Capone?s. Pours a hazy yellow with a slight white head. Aroma is strong grapefruit with lots of dankness. Taste is very interesting. Dank hops mix with grapefruit characters to give a really strong, deep flavor. Crushingly dry which I attribute to the lager yeast. Really weird but really good.

Draft at Capone’s. Pours turbid margarita golden colored with white clingy head. Nose was dry, flora, with a lot of pineapple. Tasted resiny hoppy, dry and floral, with a lot of pineapple and grapefruity hints, and some finishing oaky woody notes that melded well into the beer.

Lätt grumligt ljusgul i färgen med litet vitt skum. Doftar funky, omogen ananas, grön ung humle, jäst och vinöst. Smakar bäskt av humle, torrt, gräs, ananas, aparikos, apelsinbitterhet.
