COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cisk Lager, launched in Malta in 1928, is a golden-coloured, bottom-fermented lager with a distinctive and well-balanced character. Its rich hop aroma and pleasant bitterness, combined with a mild astringency, make it an outstanding thirst-quencher. Its alcohol content is 4.2%. Cisk Lager was awarded top prize in the International Lager Category at the 1995 Australian Beer Awards and was presented with the Pfizer Food Science Trophy for the lager obtaining the highest number of votes in the same competition.

Blond color. Light corn and paper aroma. Surprisingly, the taste is very pleasant, with a little, fruity, distinctive hop note.

The aroma is very light malty with faint notes of straws. The color is golden, and it has a fine but disappearing head. It is rather bitter in the start. Do I detect brewing cereal? In the middle it turns into a filling simple malt flavor, to end on an OK dry bitterness.

Bottled. Pale golden larger colour with a green hue. Good malt structure as the bottle is opened. Decent dry finish, apt with the Pakistani spicy minted lamb cutlets.

Bottle - 330ml. Light, fresh and surprisingly fruity and scented. Lemon, melon, caramelised banana. Mmmm. A little sticky sweet, but that feels appropriate for a fun summer drink. Sometimes, just sometimes, one of these International Lagers hits it just right with a little twist of difference.

Pale yellow color. Light grass and sugar in the nose, somewhat spicey. Light bitterness in the body but that's it...

Very light colour. Grassy aroma - what little there is. Light body, hint of grass. Lots of water.

A thin pale dull lager beer. Over fizzed but very short lived head. Some fruityness but its main attribute is in serving it ice cold in the searing temperatures. 33 cl bottle sampled.

Faint, short-lived fruity apricot-flavour. And that’s about it!

omhper (15956) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 28, 2002
UPDATED: NOV 29, 2004 Sampled draught at The Plough & Anchor, Sliema, Malta.
Golden colour with nearly no head. Very light citrusy aroma. Dryish & clean, but on the thin side. Light citrusy finish with low bitterness and fizzy mouthfeel. A rather empty lager.
