Cisk was launched in Malta in 1928. It is a golden-coloured lager with a distinctive and well-balanced character. Its rich hop aroma and pleasant bitterness, combined with a mild astringency, make it an outstanding thirst-quencher. Its alcohol content is 4.2%.

Cisk Lager was awarded top prize in the International Lager Category at the 1995 Australian Beer Awards and was presented with the Pfizer Food Science Trophy for the lager obtaining the highest number of votes in the same competition. 10.5°

Can from kevnic- many thanks for country #89! The beer pours out in a clear golden colour with low steady head and medium to thin body. Aroma of honey, hops and apples. Taste of straw, hops, honey, caramel and apples. Very nice and refreshing to drink with quite a high carbonation. Flowery and fresh finish - enjoyed it.

Can shared with McTapps donated by KevNic. - I drank that one before I explored the earlier ratings. And once again my tongue seems to be quite different than the rest of the world. Millions of apples, loads of butter, some flowers and pineapple in that one. Fresh, quaffy, easy to drink and wonderfully aromatic. The biggest surprise I would have ever imagined in 2013. Crazy.

330 ml can. Clear pale yellow body with a small white head. Light aroma of pale malt, grain and hint of grass. Flavor is soft, light malt with low bitterness. Medium body and short aftertaste. There is really not much going on here, but it feels really refreshing with a pure flavor and no faults. A decent thirst-quencher on a hot summer day I believe.

At the maltesers Maha restaurant. To the half Maltese wifes surprise a tidy effort. More pilsener than pale lager.

500ml Can as a gift from Malta:
Sweet and quite basic with a lot of corn and adjuncts as well as a slightly astringent aroma with some cereal and wheat as well. Pretty much standard for a basic macro lager and it’s not great sadly.
Clear and light straw colour but is topped with a huge, very foamy looking head that is bone white and holds better than you would expected. It does gradually reduce and leaves a slight trace of lacing on the glass too.
Lager malts and some adjuncts kick things off but the taste is a little bland with some cereal and a hint of grassy hops. A few malts make an appearance and there is a touch bitterness too.
Smooth and fairly crisp too with a light, almost watery body and a very clean taste. The finish has some bitterness and doesn’t seem overly dry.

What I expected from this one really, a fairly bland but certainly drinkable pale lager. There is nothing much in the way of taste or aroma to this one and it’s pretty inoffensive.

bottle. Poured clear very pale yellow with a light bleach white head. Aroma of light malt and slight sulfur. Light creamy texture, crisp astringent finish. Flavour of hay and some citrus. Pretty bland, not as much hop detected as it boasts.

The Maltese lager. Very light pour and light in taste. A perfect beer after a long day of diving...

Shared bottle, thanks to Kåre. Pours clear pale golden with a small creamy white head. Aroma is light and malty. Taste is well balanced, light body, ok mediocre lager.
