1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Light golden color with a smallish, but stable off-white head. Certainly does smell of a malt liquor. Sweet grains, corn syrup, apple peels, and dried floral hops. Go directly to alcohol do not pass go or think about collecting any flavors. A hint of grain sweetness, followed by a shot of corn squeezin’s’. LIght and fluffy feel. HInts of herbs in the liquor. Some Slivovitz qualities and that is not necessarily a good thing. A touch of grain in the finish and linger make this tolerable. Otherwise rather terrible.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Malt Liquor is an appropriate beer style to use in toasting now ex-governor Rod Blagojevich, the scum-bag. Fortunately I just picked this up at the Binny’s in Willowbrook, Illinois - the most corrupt state in the union. This pours a golden body with a respectable, good-lacing head. The aroma is sweet and grainy, has a touch of orchard fruit, and some grassiness. There’s a touch of caramel and a goodly dosage of alcohol added to the flavor. Crisp finish. Damn. Whilst nothing great, this is still too good for sleaze-ball Rod. I guess I’ll have to throw my shoes at that piece of crap.
Anyways - Here’s to you Blago, you scuzzy dog-dropping! I hope the Feds get you a good, long senetence!

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
poured a cristal clear balnd yellow hue with a fast fading white head. Aroma was somewhat skunky but also had some nutty notes. Flavor was very sweet and the alcohol was present. Crisp in the finish. Not bad for a malt liquor.

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Sampled side by side with regular Cisk Lager. A very light yellow/golden colored beer with a small white colored head, nearly identical in appearance to the regular Cisk Lager. Nose has more complexity than the regular Cisk, with similar notes as the regular Cisk, but also some light notes of caramel and fruit. Flavor isn’t enjoyable, but has some nice malt elements of caramel and toffee. Suprisingly decent. Still not drinkable for me, but it’s an ok beer. If I were desperate I could drink this.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Very clean and clear yellow color with a tight white head. Sugary sweet malts, yeast, grain, and some alcohol in the aroma. Thick and smooth mouth. Syrupy sweet flavor, malts, light hops, and some alcohol is picked up under all that sweetness. Really sweet lager hiding a bunch of alcohol underneath it all.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle. Clear, almost golden beer with a white head. Alcohol, sweetness and maltyness, as well as a vague fruityness in the aroma. The flavor is sweet and malty as well, with some fruityness, a little bitter touch, and surprisingly not so much alcohol, at least not until the end. Medium full, sweetish body. The beer is too strong and unbalanced. I like strong beers, but they need a balance, and the alcohol should be more of the warming kind, than just alcohol. (070914)

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle from the Offie, Leicester. Light gold with a small head. Aromas are nuurrgghh, strong alcohol with sweet grain and, nurrghhh, pepper and alcohol. Flavours are gritty grain with syrupy lemon and caramel. Lots of peppery notes towards the finish. Alcohol follows, and lots of it. One for the Maltese tramps, perhaps. XS, not surprisingly stands for extra strong.
