4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Smells coffee, chocolaty, roast malt. Pours black with a dark tan head. Tastes bitter, coffee, cola nut, bright notes (cherry?). Nice finish feels light, but has significant body. Interesting body.
A complex brew that seems to be many things to me. Impressed.

Bottle. Impenetrable black -- no dawn here. Half a finger of fuzzy tan head pops away quickly. Rich, savory aroma. A little soy, spicy coffee, burnt toast, booze, a flash of sourdough. Spicy, oily coffee, black pepper and toasted sourdough up front in the flavor. Sweeter at the swallow, smoothed out by oats and milk chocolate. Bitterness lingers on sides of the tongue. High, pinching carbonation in a smooth medium body. Not too heavy, holds together as it moves. Not a ton of heat either. Good not great. There are better stouts with clearer coffee flavor.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ Post-Easter Procrastination, Ulfborg. Pours hazy very dark brown with small tan head. Clear aroma of roast and coffee, with notes of malt and touches of hops and liquorice. Sweetish, malty flavour with notes of fruit and bitter, roasty and coffee-like touches. Hints of lactose. Roasty and sourish aftertaste. Okay but would be even better without the sourish hints.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Strong aroma of wet coffee grounds. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, tobacco, tar, a bit acrid
Pours pitch black with small wispy but creamy yellowish head
Strong coffee flavor balanced fairly well with roasty malts. Chocolate, ash, bread, burnt wood.
Medium full bodied with low CO2, lingering burnt finish.
Decent beer. I prefer dark fruity and malty Imperial Stouts compared to roasty burnt ones, so this isn't really my cup of tea or cup of coffee. Still an enjoyable sipper. Wouldn't buy again though
