COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A heavy strong stout brewed with coffee, brown sugar and oats. With its powerful quality and morning ingredients it seems parallel to a solid dawn session at Blacks. An inside connection to boutique roasted fare trade beans we were granted the opportunity to make this exceptional brew.

16.9 ounce bottle. Served in a Great Lakes Brewing goblet, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half tan head that stayed around for a long time. There’s also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and some vanilla. The taste is mostly like the aroma, but there’s the addition of some brown sugar and some burnt/charred malt. I think it’s a mostly roasty tasting stout, but with a nice amount of sweetness, too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit creamy and coating with moderate carbonation. I think it’s a good brew, I wouldn’t mind trying this again in the future. It’s the first Cismontane beer I’ve tried, so I’ll have to try some of their other ones soon. $5.19 a bottle.

My main concern was this beer it that it seemed a bit flat times. The flavor had both chocolate and coffee, and some hops alternating throughout. Pretty good.

Bottle shared with a few brahs, pours brownish black with medium head and lacing. Nose is green coffee, chocolate, barrel roast. Flavor is most of the same with rich cocoa, and some espresso bean taste. On the lighter side for an Imperial stout. Not bad.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s pad, from Healthy Spirits in SF via Rilester who did some shopping for me, 16/01/14. Black with a good sized tan head that retains for a while before insisting on pond like behaviour! Nose carries a good roast coffee blast, earthy, vanilla, dark toffee fudge, brown sugars. Taste comprises roast coffee, chocolate, earthy, lick of booze, sweetish flavours. Medium bodied, fine carbonationm sweetish closure but tempered by the roasty notes. Decent coffee forward impy, well balanced and held together.

Bottle thanks to C-dogg. It pours darkest brown with a small tan head. The nose is rich chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, caramel, fudge, vanilla and juicy coconut. The taste is roasted malt, toast ash, earth, coffee, chocolate, spice, caramel, treacle and fudge. Medium body, moderate carbonation and viscous mouth-feel. Pretty solid stuff all-round.

Bottle cheers to Colin. Pours black with a creamy, and very sticky beige head. Nose is all about the bitter coffee here with balanced nuttiness and vanilla bean to smooth it out. Some nice silky toffee to play around with as well. Vanilla and freshly roasted coffee beans make up the taste with nice dark fruit focus - prunes and raisin sweetness mainly. Brown sugar comes in and works to balance the char. Very creamy mouth feel with nice sweetness behind the aggressive bitterness which follows. Some pleasing heat to it. Great stuff

Tasting at the pad of the ever gracious Bruce. Opaque brown beer, good tan head. Palate is smooth with mild carbonation. Smooth dark malt, light touches of malt cream and dark chocolate. Nice generic darkish fruits underneath. Smooth finish. Well joined up and tasty.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to C-Dog. Pours oily black with a creamy beige head. Rich chocolate on the nose with burnt marshmallows and burnt wood. Medium sweet flavor with lots of charred malts, dirt, rich chocolate, dark fruits. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with further rich, complex chocolate character, decent roast, charred wood. Good stuff. Nice creamy, dark chocolate. Delicious.

Bottle. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate roasted coffee and toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy roasted sweet coffee flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met with a solid drinkable beer.
