COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black’s Dusk: a hearty stout brewed with brown sugar and oats, aged in red wine barrels for 5-8 months. With its robust, silky quality, a hint of red wine and toasted oak it seems to parallel a dusk occean swell. This beer is to be sipped and savored with friends just as you would savor the last moments of daylight at the beach.

750 ml bottle via trade (sorry the name rubbed off). Pours dark brown to black in color with a medium sized creamy beige head. The aroma had wood, roasted malts, dark fruits and red wine with mild sweetness. The flavor had a nice blending of red wine vinous notes, wood, and roasted malts. Hints of chocolate. medium bodied and pretty tasty. I like what the barrel did for this.

Bottle. Fermented cherries, very tart. Definitely can taste the red wine. Notes of chocolate, cherries dark malt. I wouldn’t really call this a stout, but still good.

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours very dark brown/black with a transient tan head. Aroma is fermented red berry. With a hint of dark malt. Full bodied, or nearly. First blush cod liver oil came to mind. Weird what the mind can do. Flavor is red berry, clearly lacking sugar - i.e. -fermented, smooth dark malt, wood. It’s moving a bit towards port with dark treacle. Hadn’t realized it was so good and decently rated. It’s worth sharing. Finishes with earthy/woody - almost cherry - chocolate notes. Non, Je ne regrette rien.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a dark brown color with a large frothy brown head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy dark chocolate, wood and tannic alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy complex sweet toasted malt flavor with a medium to heavy sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a solid beer.

750 ml bottle to snifter (thanks alexsdad06). Looks good; black with beige lacing. Smells good; malt and wood. Tastes like it smells with nice red wine notes. Good on the palate too. Nice!

Dark dark brown color, light brown head. Poured at Blue Palms during RBSG. Aroma starts out with some roasted malt and dark cherry and then carries over to some nice red wine notes. Flavor has big presence of a nice bold red wine, cherries, roasted malt and some chocolate.

Bottle shared at Blue Palms during RBSG 2012. Pours darkest brown with a thin tan ring of head. Sweet coffee aroma, iced coffee, sugar. Flavor is heavy on the wine and barrel, with vinous acidic grapes and wood. Tastes like more of a brown ale, maybe because the wine has thinned out the body and added some astringency. Aftertaste of generic coffee with minor wine notes. A little too modest in body and flavor.
