COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blackís Dusk: a hearty stout brewed with brown sugar and oats, aged in red wine barrels for 5-8 months. With its robust, silky quality, a hint of red wine and toasted oak it seems to parallel a dusk occean swell. This beer is to be sipped and savored with friends just as you would savor the last moments of daylight at the beach.

750 ml bottle via trade (sorry the name rubbed off). Pours dark brown to black in color with a medium sized creamy beige head. The aroma had wood, roasted malts, dark fruits and red wine with mild sweetness. The flavor had a nice blending of red wine vinous notes, wood, and roasted malts. Hints of chocolate. medium bodied and pretty tasty. I like what the barrel did for this.

22 oz bottle shared by Bill, thanks man! Pours a dark brown nearing black with a dark beige head that lingers and heads toward the edge. Light passes as maroon when backlit. Aroma is sweet and vinous: toasted malt, dark fruits, wine like complexity, anise bitterness, oak sweetness. Flavor is same with dark fruit (black cherries) dominating, and a certain cinnamon-like spicy complexity from the carbonation. Medium to full bodied, sugary viscosity, and a roasty brown sugar finish.

Bottle shared by RussianDragon. Thanks Dave. The beer is dark brown, near black, with a quarter inch of oily beige collar. Aromas of dark fruits, berries, chocolate, oak, red wine. Vinous and chocolaty. Medium sweetness throughout with a tannic finish. An interesting beer.

Bottle from Marketplace Alehouse and Deli, Doncaster. Clear, dark, reddy brown. Halo of tan head. Coffee. Vanilla. Light, roast coffee bean. Mostly sour cherry, raspberry, and woody, red wine vinous, though. Taste is tart dry. Palate is all that, which is fine if youíre ok with the tartness. I was expecting some richness that didnít materialise. Same for the finish. Hard work by the end.

Opaque black beer, good tan head,. Palate is fairly light, crisp and semi dry. Mild dark malts, just a bare whisper of roast. Light and bitterish wood. Good rich red wine tang and red berry fruits. Touch of vanilla. Light dry finish. Pretty light and tasty and easy drinking for an IS.

50 cl bottle. Date of minimum durability: 06.06.2015.
Pours pitch black color with a huge beige head. The aroma on this one is not what I was expecting, lots of dark berries, blackcurrant and faint raspberry, then come the intense cherry-infused wooden notes and red wine, typical chocolaty notes and dark malts are there too. Already without taking one sip Iíve been enchanted by this brew.
Frankly, at this point Iím almost too afraid to taste it in fear of ruining the experience.. ..but luckily this tastes very nice too. The dark berry tone is strongly present on the flavor also, slightly chocolaty malts with faint wooden notes and hints of red wine. Oat is only present on the aftertaste. Tasty, yes, but the body could be a lot sturdier, slightly more oily and with faint coffee and more chocolate this would be close to perfect.
I really do like the berry nuances here, not too overwhelming but still they are the dominant part of the flavor. Nice balance, like drinking berry granola. All in all, a must try and an interesting take on the style.

500 ml bottle, this batch says 8.5% ABV on the label. Served in a Great Lakes Brewing chalice, the beer pours dark brown/black with an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like red wine, dark fruit (tart and sweet cherries), roasted malt, chocolate, and wood. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma. Itís full of vinous flavors, along with some roasted malt, chocolate and wood. But the red wine and dark fruit flavors are what this brew is all about! Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, itís creamy and coating with a good amount of carbonation. I liked this, itís worth a try if youíve never had it before. $13.99 a bottle.
