The doppelsticke is one of the rarest beers in the world. Don’t believe me? Name one.
So, what is it? It’s a secret “classified” German beer that is rarely brewed and when it is only the true beer drinkers find out about it. A double alt bier, strong German ale, that stems from a mistake a brewer made in 1862 by adding too much grain to the mash. This is a creamy, malty beer style that has a touch of fruity yeast character. Traditionally the beer is never brewed the same way twice. It can range from light to brown in color but is always strong and tasty. Ours is on the lighter side with a very creamy body and finish.
We brewed this beer as a tribute to a promotion of James Classick our brewer’s assistant. Celebrate with us by holding a glass high!

Pleasantly surprised by this. Slight spicy and honey aroma. Poured a light orange to yellow tint. Super easy to drink. Big malt taste to it. Barely sweet. A bit creamy as well. Really enjoyed it.

Draft at Imbibe Wine. Nose is a little caramel and spiciness. Murky orange with a heavy lacing offwhite head. Flavor is slightly sweet caramel with light spices.

I had this on tap at Cismontane. This hazy orange pour had some hop flavor up front with a finish that had notes of apple cider vinegar. It’s a bit disappointing.
