COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after the coulter big cone pine tree is a well balanced I.P.A. It brings the style of I.P.A. back to its roots. Brewed with a hint of rye for head retention and a deeper malt character, this brew has the best of all worlds, great hop aroma, a strong body and deceiving strength.

Golden orange pour, plenty of white head (overflowed when I opened it.) Aroma of tangerine, tropical hops. Flavor is very balanced citrus, light stone fruit, and tropical hops.

poured from a bomber, it’s a nice clear orange brew with a pleasant aroma. the flavor is dominated by a bitter grapefruit & pinecone hops flavor. more bitter than I prefer, but a nice contrast to the sweeter IIPA’s I regularly drink

Bottle. Poured hazy copper color with an average to large frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy earthy & hop aroma. Medium to full body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This beer exceeded my expectations.

Look, Cismontane--nor any other brewer--is going to reinvent the ipa, but Cismontane offers a very nice example. That aroma! That sweet pine aroma is quite amazing, and something I have never encountered before. You know what, it actually smells of Witch Hazel a bit! I swear. Anyway, this is well-balanced brew that is quite serviceable.

Bottle from Healthy Spirits, SF. Clear amber. Citrus hop aroma. Sweet citrusy taste with decent malt and a light bitter finish. Smooth body. A perfectly good IPA, but nothing extraordinary.

Thank you Jessica at Craft Brewed Nashville. Color is a hazy yellow pages LD with a very generous foam. Smells light but very fresh. Light citrus with plenty of mellow hops. Tastes much the same. Very easy to consume. I could get in trouble with this. Not super complex or amazing but crazy drinkable.

16-oz. Thanks K! Pours a hazy medium amber with golden bronze edges. Huge fluffy white head. Lots of lace. Caramel, grass, peppery rye, and a bit of pine on the nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Caramel and grass on the mid palate with a mild finish.

15 feb 2014, tap. Yellow, clear, occasional bubbles. Nose is pine hops, some rye malt, and hints of bubble gym or cotton candy. Med body and moderately fizzy. Lots if pine hops and bitterness with some rye malt and noticeable alcohol. Ok. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Vintage: 2013 Appearance: Translucent, Gold-Copper; Huge, Foamy Head; Vigorous Carbonation; Great Lace Smell: Lemon Rind; Sweet Orange; Tangerine; Floral Hops Taste: Tangerine; Lime; Lemon Rind; Bisquit Malts; Rye Spice Mouth-feel: BIG carbonation, almost Champagne; Medium Body; Dry Finish Overall: Good Rye IPA; Comments: I would like more hop bitterness and rye spice to match the heavy fruitiness. Seems stylistically confused… is it an IPA or a Rye-IPA?
