COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after the coulter big cone pine tree is a well balanced I.P.A. It brings the style of I.P.A. back to its roots. Brewed with a hint of rye for head retention and a deeper malt character, this brew has the best of all worlds, great hop aroma, a strong body and deceiving strength.

Bottled. Pours pale aamber with an average, off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruit notes, resin and caramel. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and nice bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. A nice IPA.

500 ml bottle from Les Vignerons. Dark sunrise orange/light amber, pretty hazy, with a big, fluffy and persistent off white head. Perfumy and soapy nose, lots of hops, but not sure about freshness. Still relavitvely fresh and pleasent though. Citrus, light pine, a hint of caramel. Much more malty than a typical IPA, but certainly balanced. Medium to high bitterness, lingering fruity and resinous taste. Little spicy kick (perhaps from the rye addition). Hoppy, again slightly soapy aftertaste. Average carbonation, medium body, cream texture. Good for what it is, but quite different from what I love and seek in an IPA.

Lightly hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Very light airy palate, light as a feather! Light malt base, mildly sweet. Lovely hops - minty pine, whispers of skunk and lime. Mild hop spice. Finishes airy and light. Lovely balance of hop flavours and so light and drinkable.

Bottle on 13th July 2014. Looks good in a pint sleeve, full on amber body with bubbles rising through the clear body to a deep off white head. Plenty of piney hops in the aroma and taste, fairly bitter but with a healthy malt content in the mix as well. I found it easy to drink and really enjoyed it, the alcohol content is well hidden and although it is a hop brew first and foremost it was not one dimensional like some American IPAs I have had.

Cloudy light amber color with generous frothy head. Light malt and hop, not impressive. Smooth, lean body, with elegant light sweetness, good malt, salty feeling, strong bitterness, nice fruity and resiny touch.
Nice but could be fresher.

16.9 bottle from the brewery. Stronger malt presence than most CA IPAs but hops still punch through enough. I was told that this was the freshest hoppy beer they had in bottles, but I have a feeling it’s not all that fresh. Bottle date looks almost 2 months old if I’m reading it correct. Still enjoyed but hope for fresher IPAs from a brewery on site -- too bad we didn’t have time for a pint or need for a growler.

Golden orange pour, plenty of white head (overflowed when I opened it.) Aroma of tangerine, tropical hops. Flavor is very balanced citrus, light stone fruit, and tropical hops.

poured from a bomber, it’s a nice clear orange brew with a pleasant aroma. the flavor is dominated by a bitter grapefruit & pinecone hops flavor. more bitter than I prefer, but a nice contrast to the sweeter IIPA’s I regularly drink

15 feb 2014, tap. Yellow, clear, occasional bubbles. Nose is pine hops, some rye malt, and hints of bubble gym or cotton candy. Med body and moderately fizzy. Lots if pine hops and bitterness with some rye malt and noticeable alcohol. Ok. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
