3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 bhensonb (8991) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 10, 2012
Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours clear copper with a foamy frothy off-white head. Aromas of grapefruit and resin. Med body or better. Flavor is a soft malt backbone with a decent load of grapefruit and resin. Sort of on the road to NW, but not too close. The rye is perceptible and the hop is very nice. If it’s time for IPA, this could be a good choice.

On tap at Eagle Rock. Pours with a hazy golden body and a white head. Aroma of citrus, fennel, mango and fruit. Taste is dry, bitter, fennel, coriander, mint and nearly a belgian yeast presence. Lively and dry mouthfeel. Either an interesting hop profile or some yeast that is abnormal for an american ipa.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JorisPPattyn (7306) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - MAY 8, 2012
Draught Thick, creamy, pale lemonyellow head over fully hazy orange beer with fine pearling. Citrussy hops, featuring mandarine and orangepeel. Dry citrussy bitterness, but with a fine aromatic, near bodycare-like perfumey finish. Spritzy MF, quite slick, hop-oily. Rather middle-of-the-road IPA, but nothing wrong.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Sammy (7035) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 18, 2012
Pours yellow with lace sheets. Oddly little aroma in my Samuel Adams engineered glass. Medium mouth feel, a little numbing. Reasonable IBU of 65, and good drink ability. Piney hops.

A: The beer pours a slightly clouded orange-yellow-amber color with a finger of white head.
S: Starts off with quite a bit of fruit to the nose. Lots of tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, and mango. Really like that combination of descriptors, but the bread and malt fills in the back end, unfortunately.
T: Grapefruit up front with quite a bit of lemon and orange peel. There’s some mild breadiness and caramel, but a pretty sharp alcohol and perfume character that is fairly off-putting to me.
M: The body is medium with a moderate level of carbonation.
D: This one started off nice enough but it pretty quickly became too harsh for my liking.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Ibrew2or3 (5761) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - APR 22, 2013
16oz bottle pours with a clear copper body that supports a full nearly creamy head of tan foam. Right when I pop the top my aromatic senses are assaulted by garlic and shallots and onion dank hoppy goodness. Upon further inspection the dankness doesn’t seem as bold and I also pick up thin snippets of citrus hops. The taste is similar, yes I say, as I get a nice mix of dank earthy shallot like hop flavor and bitterness with a flash of citrus too. It moves into being progressively more bitter midway and into the finish enhancing the experience. This is nice stuff with pleasing balance between hop bitterness, hop flavor and a lightly sweet malty body.
