COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is named after the the falls at the end of Holy Jim trail in the Trabuco Canyon near the brewery. The refreshing flavor and hoppy aroma of this crisp, clean Extra Pale Ale will certainly be enhanced when standing in the cool waters of the falls when you reach the end of the trail. Throw a couple of these in your bag for the hike and enjoy it to the sound of running water.

28th May 2015: my second bottle of a random tasting session I am having with myself and no one else. Sat at my daughters place in Southern California where it is hot and sunny at the moment. A one pint and 0.9oz bottle into a Leffe badged chalice (three times). Slight haze to each light golden pour, on top a fast fading white covering. Hop lead to the nose and flavours, Grapefruit like taste, sharp and almost sour in the mouth: not too sure they bothered with any malts in this brew. As the beer warmed the grapefruit flavours turned more lemon like and more bitter. Decent enough and I liked the fact it was only 4.5% ABV, it did not need an alcohol boost to give it some individuality or credibility.

500-ml (I think). Thanks, K! Such a cool treat. Pours a hazy medium amber with bright golden orange edges. Billowing loose white head that fades away pretty quickly. Bright sweet appetizing pine notes on the nose. Creamy medium body with light and lively carb. Lightly toasted caramel with refreshing and sweet pine needle notes on the mid palate. Crisp light finish. Nicely done.

March 9th, 2013 - Cismontane’s Holy Jim Falls is a summer treat just waiting to be paired at your favorite seer-sucker attire required party. Light and golden in body, it shines even after sunset, with a hoppy, spritz aroma, touches of mizuna, a squeeze of lime, and even the strong associative scent of tortilla. The flavor is also rooted in the citrus family, most predominantly with dry lemon, lime and hops, and some carbonation. The palate is lighter, too, making this a drink that’s easy to quaff, and to enjoy each chord of lemon and lime.

Medium yellow with a slight haze, big rocky white head that dissipated quickly to nothing and left minimal lace. Lemon, bread and perfume in the aroma. Modest grassy hop bitterness offset by bready malt. Light body, lively carbonation, prickly mouthfeel and a crisp finish.

Poured from a bottle. Hazy pale yellow with tremendous light and fluffy head that reduced to nothing. Aroma is not pleasant, papery and alkaline, with lemony, citrus. Taste is extra pale, no real malt, slightly citrus with a bit of sweetness and honeylike on the finish. I would not drink a second but could if I were thirsty on a hot day. I have had better.

Mediocre at best it doesn't belong with pale ale near its description. Gets better per drink. Had this weakling on tap - after bolder beers - so possibly a tainted palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Birratrovo, Como
Hazy pale blond color; the head is too large. The fermentation produced a perfumy and spicy aroma (coriander-like), deep; some green apples too, and tea. Bone dry mouthfeel; not much malt flavor, a pit papery indeed; strong bitterness; the hop doesn’t provide enough qualities, instead in the final there is some chicory-like bitterness, which I displease.
Surely designed for summer days, nevertheless unbalanced.

Somewhat lemony aroma. Looks like darker lemonade. Good sizzle, a little creamy on the zest. Bitter citrus peel thing seems like it wants to be a pils kindah thing but never quite gets there. The cut on this makes me move it from a 4 to a 5 in taste. Yes, what turns out to be rather annoying initially, smooths out to an even keel. Glad to have tasted a glass bottle pounder of this rare beer.

Hazy yellow / gold pour. Light lemon peels and some grass perhaps. A lighter version of Lagunitas DayTime, which is much more flavorful.
