The Mesa- A new school testament to the tradition of brewing beer with grapes. It is a blend of 25% Santa Lucia highland Riesling from Mer Soleil Vineyard and 75% Pilsner from Cismontane. This beer is brewed entirely with Nelson Sauvin hops. Soured with Lactobacillus to enhance the natural grape acidity and fermented with a blend of wine and beer yeast. This process highlights the flavors that beer and wine have in common. The collaboration beer made by longtime friends Charlie Wagner and Evan Weinberg.

22oz bottle at the Kings Arms, London. It pours a clean pale straw color with a small white head. Aroma is winey, dusty, citrusy, vinegarish an lightly grainy. Taste is similarly odd with a mix of tart citrus and bitter grass and grains. Not sure about this one

Hazy deep blond color. Fruity, grapey aroma, light vinegar. The mouthfeel is not exactly sweet, but itís soft, with low bitterness; you can feel the grapes, but it doesnít have the kind of kick that other breweries like Montegioco have when making these crossovers.

Sampled during RBSG. From notes. Loads of dry grape, very champagne like. Heavy on the acidic side.

Bottle. My first from this brewery and not a very impressive start. Cloudy orang appearance .Flat with virtually no head. Sharp with a bitter edge. A strange drinking experience that I wouldnít like to repeat.

500 ml bottle, No. 2, 12/19/13:B2 printed on the label. Served in a chalice, the beer pours a clear gold with about an inch white head that fizzled away very quickly. Pretty much no lacing at all. Minutes after pouring the beer, itís still easy to see a bunch of bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass to the top. The brew smells like sweet and doughy malt, white grapes/wine, apples, and pilsner malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, but thereís also some tart green apple, orange peel and pear flavors noticeable. Itís sweeter tasting than I expected it to be. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, itís refreshing and well carbonated. Iím still not sure what I think of this, too bad I only had this one bottle. I do know that I enjoyed it, and itís definitely worth a try! $9.99 a bottle.

Hazy yellow color, no head. Dry green apple, white wineous grapey aroma. Sweet, a pike of tartness. Light to medium bodied. Green apple, white wine, grainy pilsnery notes, light tropical fruityness. This blend works nicely. Refreshing, perhaps a bit tartness would make this even better.

On tap at Stateside Craft, pours a hazy golden orange with a tiny head. Aroma brings out lemon lime notes, with a touch of fruit. Flavour is rather bad, with light acidic citrusy notes and juiciness. Rather thin and apple juice-like. Not very complex or interesting, but still solid.

Draught, Stateside Craft.
Pale and hazy. Massive head died instantly. Has a vinous nose and taste, not surprisingly. Spicy, gin-like notes on the nose. Iím thinking some farmhouse thing. Nice pale malts, fruity white wine...odd and unique. The balance is really good, a nice marriage of wine & beer, owing to a lot of residual malt sweetness and Belgian yeast esters.

50 cl bottle.
Pours cloudy lime-golden color with no head. Spicy and very lemony aroma, yeast and wood also. Lemon, spices and orange peel on the flavor, faint yeasty notes and rice. Very lively, perhaps too lively, feels a bit thin. A bit disappointing but a decent Berliner Weisse -like brew.

500ml bottle

Pours hazy yellow with a tiny head that disappears very quickly. Aroma of tropical fruity hops, vinous notes, grapefruit, spices, lactic yeastiness and tartness. Taste is vinous, juicy and fruity with some grapes, berries and malts. Finish is vinous, tartish and fruity. Quite vinous.
