3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours with a crystal clear pale yellow hued body with a medium sized white head that fades. Aromas are of belgian like esters, sauterne or reisling grapes, tropical fruit, pineapple, passion fruit, medium acidity, light grain, and a hint of plastic. Flavors show a medium acidity, some fruity sweetness, lots of grape character, bready malt, a bit grainy, estery, tropical fruit. Nice nuanced balance. A touch of DMS. Medium carbonation, a somewhat thin body. Interesting beer.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Soapy white foam fades quickly. Clear gold. Peppery and honey aromas - slightly sweet Riesling is definitely there. Light acidity, expected more from the lacto; light lemon; no hops. Nice dryness, low carbonation.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This is a strange one for sure. It pours out looking like a classic pilsner but the first aroma and taste is pure white wine. Followed closely by a bit of hops and a pils flavor which is then followed by a slight sour dryness. An interesting experiment but I think the grapes are a touch too much for the base pilsner.

750ml capped. Clear golden, minimal tight white head. Beligian phenols, bright white grape, sweaty wheat, doughy finish. Bright tart and crisp white grape, no mustiness at all. Slight banana, more bright fruity grape, hint of pepper in the finish. Man this is solid and unique.

UPDATED: MAY 6, 2013 Had this on tap at Beer Rev just before Walker’s Wild Ride got going. Not very good. There were some interesting hints of flavor here and there but it mostly tasted like a glass of chardonnay.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a rather clear golden color with a white head. Pronounced grape aroma, almost like a Sauvignon blanc. Big vanilla sweetness, wood, melon, and some sweet sugar and caramel. Nice tropical fruit notes, too. The flavor is very fruit forward. Lots of wine, plenty of melon, citrus, and tropical fruit. Sweet sugar, some vanilla, and a good wood note. Really thought this was nice, but the mouthfeel was a bit flat and thin.

On tap at Beer Rev. Described as a Belgian ale aged in Chardonnay barrels, thats exactly what is was. Aroma and flavor was very consistent...straight up Chardonnay, little Belgian spice and sweetness of candy sugar. Palate was pretty smooth, no bitterness, hardly any carb. I imagine this is somewhat enjoyable for those who love the white wine. As for me, meh. Better than drinking Bud.
