COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Mesa- A new school testament to the tradition of brewing beer with grapes. It is a blend of 25% Santa Lucia highland Riesling from Mer Soleil Vineyard and 75% Pilsner from Cismontane. This beer is brewed entirely with Nelson Sauvin hops. Soured with Lactobacillus to enhance the natural grape acidity and fermented with a blend of wine and beer yeast. This process highlights the flavors that beer and wine have in common. The collaboration beer made by longtime friends Charlie Wagner and Evan Weinberg.

Soapy white foam fades quickly. Clear gold. Peppery and honey aromas - slightly sweet Riesling is definitely there. Light acidity, expected more from the lacto; light lemon; no hops. Nice dryness, low carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy pale gold beer, small white head. Palate is light ad crisp and a little dry. Light lagerish malt. Light grapes and a little champagne like acid crispness. Light finish. Clean, crisp and drinkable and an intriguing hybrid beverage.

On draught at House Beer. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head that recedes slowly. Patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of vine fruits, yeast and malt. Medium body with a vinous character and flavors of oak, doughy malt and yeast. The finish is mildly tart with a white wine and yeast aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

14 karat pour with an ivory fizz. So complex; earthy, tart, fruity, and funky! Ample carbonation and highly drinkable...yum!

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours brilliant gold with a slight creamy white head. Aroma of grapes. Med minus body. Flavor is white grape and suggestions of tropical fruits. Mild lactic sour notes. Very light and delicate. The sour/tart tends to drift away. A very pleasant beer. Tho the flavors are mild they make a statement.

Bottle from Whole Foods sacramento. Pours clear golden with a disappearing white head and a white grape aroma. There is a tart grape flavor that turns sgar sweet then dry and bitter. Very complex and unusual.

A vigorous pour into my New Belgium goblet produces a one-finger thick, pale, off-white colored head. The beer is a bright gold / pale-amber color that shows a brilliantly clear, stunning, rich yellow-gold hue when held up to the light. The nose smells distinctly of grapes, white wine grapes with a bit of a fresh apple edge to them. The nose is quite aromatic, even floral at times, and it has a grassy note to it that seems to be a mix of malt and grape character.

Lightly tart, somewhat sweet and it is effervescent, while having some fullness to it that doesn’t keep this from being fairly drinkable. The grape flavors are the dominant note, with a nice, wine-like, white grape flavor; green raisin notes, some floral character, a touch of a grassy / herbal edge, and even some firm bitterness are all found here and are likely a combination of the grapes and the hop character. The malt character plays quite a subtle role here, if you really dig for it there is a touch of a rounded, hay like malt and cracker like grain character.

I am surprised that this has lactobacillus in it, it really isn’t all that sour, and the tartness that is here could be attributed to the grapes themselves. Not bad, but a bit simplistic, and a touch on the sweet side.

This is a very interesting beer / wine blend. Straw colored with low carbonation and very minimal head. No lacing once the head dissipates. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
