Cloudy off orange hazy pour dense white head with thick lacing. Definite alcohol in the aroma definitive oak qualities some vanilla an off orange skin under a lot of malt and some grass. Full well coated palate, finishes creamy. Flavor is sweet lots of malt and a dry oak and grass finish some fruits and raisins. Something just a little off in it but tastes good.

On tap at Beer Revolution. Pours reddish copper with a thin off-white head and a fruity aroma. There is a fruity carbonated caramel malt flavor with a burning alcohol trail. A really nice sipper.

Bottle. Hazy amber with small to medium off-white head. Aroma of oak, pine, caramel, biscuit, lemongrass and some light booze. Taste is light sweet and medium to high bitter with some caramel and booze. Medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. Pretty decent but I don’t entirely get along with it.

Tap. Pours slightly hazy amber with thin, creamy off-white head; good retention and lacing. Aroma is floral hops, cherries, figs, caramel malt, and booze. Flavor is sweet malt forward, heavy hops, and medium fruit esters; booze taste throughout with a sweet finish. Medium body and carbonation with high warmth. Almost more barleywine than double IPA and very delicious.

I sampled this beer at Cismontane in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. The oak barrel aging adds a nice balance to the hoppiness of this double IPA.
