Oso. A robust English Porter fermented in the traditional open top tank. A process that allows the yeast to fully express it’s character by developing sweet fruity esters. We then aged the beer in rye whiskey barrels for several months adding warm vanilla and caramel notes.

750, capped. Thanks, K! Pours black with a thin off-white head that goes away. Big fruity barrel nose, lots of apricots and pepper and some vodka, pretty out of balance. Sticky thick body. Chocolate and apricots and pepper and vodka on the mid palate. Overly thick and sweet.

Bottle. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate malt, earthy wood and rye aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark toasted bittersweet flavor with medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Solid complex beer.

The 750mL bottle pours with a mahogany body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up sweetness, bourbon, some prunes and some dates with boozy heat hitting the snoot at the end of the draw. The taste starts with full up sweet bourbon and then getting into prunes and raisin and a touch of dark roasted malts. It gets a little toasted bread like into the finish.

Dark brown pour with a light brown head. Flavor has lots of nice whiskey barreled notes, spicy rye, vanilla, toasted oak. Nice.

Black pour with a small khaki head. Decent whiskey aroma, some dark fruits, banana, and lots of roasted malt. A touch of alcohol, coffee, and notes of vanilla. There’s some decent dark chocolate, coffee, and whiskey notes to the flavor. Wood, alcohol, dark fruit, and a bit of vanilla. Hints of banana and caramel, too.

750 bottle, dark brown pour with tan head. Wood nose with burbons followed by faint vanilla and a background of paint thinner. Big wood flavors followed by vanilla and whiskey. A very astringent dry finish. Not as rich as I would want. Needs more malt to balance. Paid $19.99, too much for this.

Have not been disappointed by a single beer these guys have produced! Dark mahogany pour with a creamy latte head. Dark fruit, spicy rye, peppery addition, cocoa, caramel, toffee, vanilla, and oak. Nice coating mouthfeel without being cloying. Really delicious...how can we get more from Cismontane?

Brown pour, off white head. Chocolate and boozy nose with rye ever present in the flavor as well. Pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
