3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml bottle. Barely clear, orangey golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Minimally grainy, pale malty aroma, herbal hoppy overtones with gone astray freshness and soapy interlude, cautious, not easy to nuzzle hints of mustard-like yeasty, spiciness. Taste is moderately bitter and herbal hoppy, malty and yeasty spicy, peppery, subtle malt sweetness; soft palate. A pimped Dortmunder.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500 ml bottle from Les Vignerons. Dark sunrise orange, quite hazy, with an average, creamy, moderately persistent off white head. On the nose toasted malts, light nuttiness, some mild fruit notes, bread and cereals. A hint of burnt caramel as well. Decent sweetness, pleasent but faint bitterness, quite malty and nutty upfront, slightly more fruity and soapy in the aftertaste. Average carbonation, medium body, creamy texture. So so.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
23rd July 2014
Clear gold - amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and mildly crisp. Smooth malts, little cream. Whisper of banana ester. Very mellow orange hops. Light finish with a very mild bitter linger. Tastes more like a mellow apa than a lager. But decent.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
16oz bottle. Cloudy unfiltered orange-tan. Foamy off-white head. Pretty light bodied for the style at first, but the unique high temperature lager tones kind of come through after a few sips. Not that exciting, but a decent example of the style. It was also only 1.99 so my expectations weren’t so high. No off flavors, clean and easy.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Birratrovo, Como
Light amber color with small head. The malt is well present for a Lager, with a caramellish side, evident in both aroma and taste; impression of raw cereals. Strong bitterness. Clean.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
From a pounder bottle. Smell is mild perfume of sweeter fermenting fruit. Looks somewhat like a thicker lager, hazy and such. Taste is like mildly soapy lager. Malty and a little creamy. Could be a little more behaved. Has a tad of that ill ale dull hop attitude to it, like older hops mixed with older lager. Go figger. Tries to be a little cloying but never quite gets there.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours light orange with small white head which fades to no lacing. Aroma is of apple juice, fruits, light bready toasted malts, sweet malts, and some some yeast. Taste is similar to the aroma with the addition of some light grassy hops and some light pine. Has a medium-light body with a semi watery mouthfeel and a semi dry, semi bitter, medium short finish. Overall, a slightly above average California Common that is pretty drinkable and somewhat tasty.

4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
A perfect lager. Fresh, clean, crisp, golden, just enough hops and no funky skunkiness. Killer with fish.
