COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer was formerly known as "Cismontane California Common Pilot #1"

The California Common almost disappeared after prohibition as did the term Cismontane. Our interpretation of this style is a golden warm fermented lager with sufficient hop aroma. As a brewer and citizen of Cismontane California it is our obligation to produce a fine California Common.

On tap. Mostly hazy orange-amber color. Thin white head, decent lace. Medium to bigger body, pretty full for the ABV. Smooth, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Bready, bitter, slight metallic and not over-sweet taste of a lager, and ample but light fruitiness of an ale - satisfying amount of fruity hop here. Lightly toasty malt. An interesting and well-done California Common, if I’ve ever had one. Seems like a good example of the style.

Uncomplicated hop, little to no aroma. Lacking on palate, and slightly bitter for style.

Bottle in Mesa. Pours a clear copper appearance with a nice, foamy, colored head. Light citrusy, cracker, bready, toasty malty aroma. A bit juicy, orange citrusy, light caramel, toasty flavor. Kind of odd.

Not a fan of this. The hops are overpowering for this style and the wrong type. A plastic aftertaste. I didn’t finish the bottle.

Bottle purchased from Beercraft. Very malty but a bit too sweet for my taste.

Light amber with a nice off white head. Malty/fruity aroma with note of sulphur. Tastes nutty with some toffee and medium bitter finish. Ok but nothing extraordinary.

Pours a clear, slightly hazy vivid copper gold. Nice foamy white head. Smells very good - crisp citrus hops, grain, and lager yeast. Tastes very refreshing, clean and fresh - citrus hops and lager. The body is light and fits well with the other components. Active carbonation that doesn’t get in the way. A nice surprise extra in a trade. Paired well with a steak teriyaki dinner.

22 feb 2013, bottle. Light orange, clear, occasional bubbles. Nose is beery gold syrup and floral. Thin/med body and mildly fizzy. Floral, lemon, syrup. Okay. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thanks to JPDurden24 for sharing this. It pours a clear gold with a white head of foam. The aroma is nice and estery with pears and apples and lagery yeastiness around the edges. The taste is similar with sweet apple and pear esters mixing with a bit of bitter hoppy spiciness. To midway the hop spiciness gets a little more earthy and gravel like in its bitterness. This offers a nice blend of sweet esters and bitter hoppiness. I like it.

Golden tangerine pour with an ivory head. Earthy, grassy, citrusy with a nice malt, grain, and oat backbone. Medium mouthfeel.
