750ml bottle from Enoteca Bonatti, Firenze, sampled at The Penguin. Peachy murk with a white head dissipating to a halo, then nothing. Delicious fresh herbal hop and pale malt aroma immediately evocative of Munchen and beyond, with notes of fresh cut grass, lemon and lime, wine gums, honey and yep, a splash of Spumante. All that in the mouth with added soapy citrus, bags of shrubby hop, flowers, honey, lingering bread and biscuit.Totally fresh and harmonious, not a note out of place. Only disappointing thing is that slightly pondwatery conditioning and lack of sparkle, odd considering the Spumante yeast used. Still, a fitting birthday toast and a beer that with a little tweaking could be world class.
