I have the feeling that the LaCrosse label at one time was a big regional brewery, and a favorite of the Wisconsin/Michigan.Illinois area. If so, I will give it some respect - after all, being from Baltimore, Natty Boh has a place in my heart. But this is just plain old megabrew lager now. Good, cheap, thirst qunching, but the beer-snob crowd will turn up it’s nose.

You can buy 30 packs of this at some stores in Wisc for around $10. Itís a very tasteless watered down, overly malted unbalanced lager with a low ABV, so you probably need the whole 30 pack to catch a buzz. I tried this yesterday at a beer fest, and im glad i didnít purchase this one.

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2008 A pale yellow color with a white head. A slight malty presence with some corn and hay. Thirty pack for $13 Iíd kill this shit for real. Very smooth finish. This is impressive for a pale lager

can. the staple beer of la crosse wisconsin. pale yellow color, no head. crisp and refreshing, though mine was served cold. my older friends say that this is what old style used to taste like back in the 70s before heilemanís went out of business. for my money, better flavor than the flagship miller and budweiser products.

Weak beef. Not much but some honey flavor. It was tasty when I was 18-19 because I had no appreciation for good beer and went cheap.

Good beer for the price. Krausening gives a nice mouthfeel. Consistency has been a problem with typically a third of beers in a 30pk having a metal flavor.

Bottle. Pours a a crystal golden in color, with a solid head. It has a well balanced character.

The best beer available in a can. Period. For an American pale lager, this beer has a lot of complexity. For the price, there is no better beer out there. Nice balance of malt and hops. Smooth finish that satisfies. Body is very good for an American lager. Color is pale yellow with a hint of orange. My search for a staple beer is over, and this is it. For the money, nothing beats it.
