sm89walt (178), Norwich, Norfolk, England Jan 7, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy amber colour with no head but a slight fizz. The aroma is rather dusty and malty. The flavours remind me of certain homebrew at times, that is to say it’s quite musky but with a lemony citric quality to counterbalance this. Thin and smooth on the palate once the fizz dies down. The finish is pleasant but a bit too short. I don’t taste anything groundbreaking but I don’t mind this brew.
cgarvieuk (2525), Edinburgh, Scotland Jul 9, 2007 bottle at home ... light ruby lots of fizz ... thin bubbly head ... sweet malt ... some fruit malt ... fruity hops lots of hop bitter ... some sharp lemon ... was too fizzy at first but settled down... quite well balanced. hughie (2252), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Apr 20, 2007 Bought in Waitrose, Cambridge. Brown amber with a small off white head. A lot of sediment in this one. Malty aroma and though there’s a slightly metallic taste, the overall impression is malty. Some bitterness. Reasonable, but not exciting. Geth_in_beer (677), Nova Scotia, Canada Jun 29, 2006 From bottle. I open the bottle, it initially smells of sweaty feet and hops but soon settles down to a home brew kind of aroma. The beer has a deep amber appearance with slight head. The flavour is smooth but slightly watery maybe, I get a musky, smokey aftertaste. not a bad ale at all, I quite liked it but wont be having it again. StueyD (590), King’s Lynn, Norfolk, Norfolk, England Mar 13, 2006 A dark amber, orange beer with a thickish white head. A light hoppy aroma with hints of apple and citrus fruit, there is also an underlying smell of sweet malt. The taste is dry and hoppy, with a fruity tang of apples and lemons, the maltiness from the nose is apparent again in the flavour towards the end. The aftertaste is light and hoppy. (Bottle - “The Real Ale Shop”, Branthill Farm, nr. Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk).
