Cask (handpump) at the Market Porter, Southwark on 2 August 2010. Not sure where the cask version is made these days. In fact, I thought City of Cambridge were almost exclusively producing bottled beers (contract brewed) these days. Odd to see that it won a prize as an Old Ale/Strong Mild. However, that was 12 years ago so I wonder whether they have made changes to this beer since then. Gold/amber colour. Good condition. Dry. Fair amount of tangy hop character. Very drinkable. A perfectly acceptable strong-ish bitter. Didn’t seem anything like an Old Ale or a Mild to me.

Cask at the Wandsworth Common Spring BF, Le Gothique, London. Pours clear gold with a foamy, white head. Dry hay nose with some dough, white sugar and straw. Medium sweet flavor with doughy malts and bitter straw. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Good condition. Doughy malt finish with some toasty hay lending a little hop bite. Nice beer overall.

Very suprised to find this bottle in a shop located in North East Lincolnshire (Cleethorpes to be exact).
The original review has been lost on the BA site somehow, so this is a quick check of my memory.
Average throughout, I was disappointed with it to be honest. I’ll review it again if i ever come across it, honest!

Cask by handpump at Bon Accord, Glasgow (14 Apr 12) - clear pale golden ale, thin white head, good temperature, lightly hopped citrus aroma, mild citrus, low carbonation, neither sweet nor bitter

A - gold and hazy with thin head
T- Sour and slight sweets with a touch of bitter
P - Medium and soft
O - Decent sweet bitter

Very lively goldy brown beer. Sharp and effervescent - almost lambic like! Bitterish grapefruit and orange dry finish. Unusual beer.

Cask @ Market Porter, Borough SE1. Pours a golden color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Fruity malty caramel flavor with some hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty caramel finish with some hoppy hints in the aftertaste.

6 Lovely bready aroma, loads of sweetish malts.
3 Mid gold, small head.
7- Apple and other fleshy fruits in the retronasals. Simple but tasty malty bready body, hopping low.
4 Lovely soft palate, carbonation low. Finish sweet but with a real bitter bite. Ends a little weetabixy and grainy.
14 Again, a great bitter, very quaffable, and full of flavour.

0,5l bottle from Tesco in Cambridge.. Dark golden color with small white head. Aroma, fruity, hops. Taste, starts with fruit, followed with hops with long nice bitter finish. Very drinkable beer.

Cask@Market Porter. Golden colour, small head. Aroma is fruits, wood, some floral and grassy hops along with mild grainy notes. Flavour is fruits, nectar, toffee, some mild nuttyness as well as some grassy notes. floral and grassy aftertaste.
